Nothing short of a MIRACLE for rodent control...
Living in New York City is a dream, but along with that dreams come a few harsh realities. Rodents are one of those realities. Almost all of us here have battled, or are currently engaged in combat with, a thriving rodent population trying to gnaw their way into our homes and businesses. Being a transplant, and having not grown up dealing with rodents in my Maryland suburban house, I was a man unaccustomed to dealing with them. It doesn't help that I've always had a healthy phobia of rodents, though admittedly years, and experience, have done much to dull that fear. So there is nothing at all normal, or natural, to me about sharing my space with a four legged population that wants to squat in my overpriced abode, without offering nary a cent to offset rent! I've dealt with "seasonal" mice for the last four years I've been in this apartment, a first floor unit in a Brooklyn brownstone. I only saw them the summer, and occasionally during the winter time after a bad snow. Though you never have just one mouse in your house, hitherto I'd only seen one mouse at a time, and frankly the lack of diversity made it easy to delude one's self that you were indeed dealing with just one mouse. However this past winter, plagued with back to back winter storms, the flood gates were cracked wide open. Not only did we have our usual "one mouse", my wife and I started to see variety in their appearances. Further more, to our disgust and horror, we saw our very first bonafide rat in the apartment. That was a true "oh hell no" moment for me, I refuse to live under these conditions, or subject my wife to them, and I set out to find a swift solution. After much research, and keeping at least the mice in control with a great d-CON 00027 Ultra Set Covered Mouse Trap , I found out about the wonders of peppermint oil. Rodents can not abide 100% peppermint oil (that's oil, not extract, and it must be 100%). Since they primarily guide themselves olfactorily, the oil is almost poison for them, and I've read it literally burns their nostrils. I bought oil right here on Amazon, and promptly got to work. It is a very potent oil, and so a couple drops on well placed cotton balls are all you really need. Set them in key entry places, or known high traffic areas for the critters, around your home and it's the perfect repellant. For additional coverage, which we needed, mix about a tablespoon of oil for every 1 to 1.5 cups of water, and spray where necessary. Smells great, and works like a dream. Since laying it down I've not seen a single rodent, despite our kitchen not being nearly as clean as it should be, and none of the traps have gone off. It had gotten so bad that we could hear those awful high pitched squeals nightly, often in what sounded like blood-combat; I later learned that mice and rats don't share space well, and the larger rodents are likely to attack the smaller ones. However now, thank God, save once when we heard something trying to come up from the basement unit, only to promptly turn right back around, nothing. Bottom line. It works. Do not waste any more time, energy, and emotion worrying about your mice and rats, terrified to even go into your own kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms. Take control of the situation, and do it in a way that is safe, clean, and has the added benefit of making your house smell like Christmas year round. UPDATE: In the four months or so since we started applying the peppermint oil, we have trapped only two mice. And those mice arrived only because we got so use to not dealing with any rodents that we forgot to refresh the oil. Once the oil was refreshed, we've not seen or trapped one since.

Great smell.
Absolutely LOVE this oil! I use it on my wool balls in my dryer. Works great to keep silverfish away too!

Great Value Lovely Real Clove Scent
This has a beautiful Clove smell. A little goes a very long way. Has excellent throw when used in a diffuser. I like to mix this with a few drops of cinnamon and pine to give me that holiday smell vibe in my space. This is a good price and nice amount plus it last a long time because you only need to use a few drops. P.s also helps numb pain when applied topically.

Potent, fragrant, delightful!!
Got this for making my own therapeutic tropical rubs for sore muscles and migraines, and for flavoring homebrew mouthwash. Excellent, fragrant, and icy! My workshop friends and I all love it, with my friends' input being the most valuable since they're hard-working career foundrymen in their 50s with a lot of old aches, but I think I love it the most because I practically get high on the smell. No one with allergies is going to be feeling congested for long anywhere within 10ft of me this season! I might even have to improvise a recipe for minty chocolate-coated coffee beans. 🤤 So glad I got the 4oz bottle instead of the 2oz. Mint oil is versatile stuff! The 'icy burn' of this oil only lasts one evening, even though I've heard legends of sportsman-geared mint rubs that "reactivate" in the shower. I wish it did, but it doesn't for me. Plus, I wear contact lenses, and have made the mistake of touching my face near my eyes; even a fraction of a smudge of this oil is very intense. I personally don't find the accidental contact near my eyes painful, but everyone should exercise extreme caution in that regard after even handling this container, or you'll be in for a bit of a thrill.

No mice!
Peppermint does work wonders to repel mice from your home. I live on the 3rd floor of a 6 family tenement in an old New England city, so having mice is something I have to deal with whether I want to or not. I managed to trap a couple, but when I realized the Dr. Bronner's soap I have wasn't strong enough, I upgraded to oil. My first bottle was tiny, and I went through it way too fast, my second I got from Whole Foods, which was the same price as this 4oz bottle I got after that, and I just ordered another one to hopefully get me through the rest of the season until they move back outside. Please note: I am neurotic. I scrub my kitchen once a week and put more oil on the cotton balls every few days. Though this bottle, since there is no dropper (which is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars), puts a lot more on than I would normally use, so I pulled back a bit, and stopped using it as often, well, the mice noticed and came back. So, back to more traps and double the oil again. LOL. I also dilute it in water and make a spray for my baseboards. I'm going through it fast. You may or may not need to use as much as I do. I also just tried applying it to a cotton ball and running it along the edges of my cabinets and baseboards where mice have been present. Seems to be doing the trick there too! But for now, my apartment smells like a candy cane, my boyfriend hates me for it, my sinuses have never been clearer, and the mice are under control.

Great Amazing Amazon service! I received my order by hand on Monday morning after placing the order on the previous day (Sunday 21 Aug 2022). The products are Great Value; cheaper cost per milliliter of the same fragrance level. Many other brands out there cost more. The caps on the bottles are child-proof, much like those on many medicine bottles. You need to twist the cap counter-clockwise while pressing it down hard to break the plastic seal at first. Will needs less force for the subsequent openings. Similarly, press the cap down while twisting it clockwise to close the cap. I am glad I chose to try out this NOW brand.

Rubbish. Advertised as clove bud oil, which it is not. It states on bottle distilled from leaves and buds, but does not clarify this on amazon. It smells and tastes like chemicals. Do not buy.
