Skip Hop Toddler Backpack Leash, Zoo, Dog

I just love this cute little backpack!Some reviews mentioned that it was too small, and I almost didn't buy it. But I took a chance and I'm glad I did. Because it is the perfect size for us! I don't use as a mini diaper bag like some reviews say they do, because I don't want my baby carrying the weight. He's super active, and the only thing inside is a Norwex cloth to wipe his hands when needed. So the size is perfect.The "leash" is also the perfect size, allowing him to feel like he's free to move. But at the same time keeping him close enough that I can grab him if I need to prevent him from falling or getting into things he's not supposed to.The color is very pretty and happy, and the material seens to be good.I will definitely buy again if I ever need a second one, or if I need a gift.

Bought this backpack for my almost three year old child about six months ago. It fit him perfectly and he loves the puppy design. The chest clip is strong enough for him not to be able to open it himself, but still lightweight. I like that leash strap is removable so he can use it at daycare as well.Size: perfectly fits a change of clothes, a diaper or two, and wipes. Or lots of small toys.Material: very sturdy, three washes so far and still going strong,Weight: very light weightNot a suitable backpack for school age children. Will not hold larger books or notebooks.

Very cute little backpack (we got the puppy). It works great as a tiny toddler backpack (I wouldn't recommend it for kids over 4ish), and the "leash" function is pretty good, too. I know people sometimes look down on parents that use leashes for their kids, but sometimes you do what you gotta do. My little 2 year old is a runner. And he gets super mad if I try to hold his hand when he doesn't want to. This gives me peace of mind that I can look in another direction for 5 seconds when we are in a crowded place and not lose him. The truth is that he doesn't want to feel restricted either. So he threw a fit about wearing it the first couple times, which was miserable, but we stuck with it and he got used to it. And once he did, he doesn't try to run off with it on anymore. He knows he can't. So he will actually hold my hand 90% of the time, which is so awesome. I can't wait until we don't need it anymore, but I'm glad I have it.

We bought this as part of our 1 1/2 son's Christmas gift (on a lightning deal), along with the matching backpack and rolling suitcase. The entire set is VERY cute! Our son especially likes to touch the big round nose and the ears. The colors are vibrant and very child-friendly. We enjoy that this is small enough for his petite frame and the buckle in the front to keep it on is very helpful! We like that the straps are adjustable, so it can grow with our boy for at least a little while. I should point out that the bag is very small, but for us, this is perfect because what all would a one-year-old be carrying anyway? The bag fits his security blanket in it perfect, but I could see it being used for a travel pack of wipes and maybe 2 diapers, or a single outfit, or maybe a juice box and a snack. Some others have also reviewed this and said that the "leash" part is too short. For us, it's actually perfect. I'm 5'6" and my son is roughly 2'8" (32 inches, give or take), and the leash is a comfortable length for us. He stays right in front of me and can't go far, which is just how I like it. I'm sure this could be a problem for taller parents or shorter children, or any combination of the two, but honestly, you could always replace the "leash" with a dog one - it's basically the same concept - if you want a longer distance between you and your child. Overall, we're really pleased with this buy and would buy it again, even at full price!

This is a great small backpack. I was searching for one for my 2 and 1/2 year old for an upcoming vacation and landed on this one because of the harness/leash. Skip hop is a great brand and the product is high quality, as expected. However, and this is my own error, it's not the 12 in backpack I thought it would be. It's closer to 8-9 inches. It doesn't fit the Amazon tablet with the kids case on. So I probably won't be taking it on vacation. However, it does fit a couple pairs training pants, wipes, snacks, etc just fine so we've been using it on day trips. The water bottle holder on the side might fit a skinny bottle but no normal water bottle, kids or otherwise will even get close (like CamelBak). The backpack can fit on a small ish adult ok as well. (See pic). My 2 year old doesn't like wearing it but he doesn't like wearing things so that was no surprise. He did like putting toys and crayons in it though.

Cute tiny bag is ruggedly assembled with a stainless steel clip holding the tether to a stainless steel ring on the bag. The straps are thick and firmly stitched, the fabric is sturdy and the seams are bound. It is tiny, and I expect it to hold a sippy cup, a small stuffed animal, and a snack for a plane ride. My main concern was strong buckles and straps, but it’s a very nicely made bag and very bright. I am using the tether in the airport to keep my 3 year old safe and I believe it willl hold up.

LOVE this!!! Looks so adorable on my son's back and is perfect for carrying around a few extra diapers and wipes, a toy, a snack or two and his sippy cup. I don't have to lug the diaper bag around just to go to a Mommy and Me class and he looks cute, it's a win win! I have not used it with the "leash" yet but it does attach well. It is a little short for my over 6 foot husband, but I'm short so the length is fine for me, I like having my son close in crowds! Love that it can detach and that we have the option to use it with or without the leash. Perfect!

Great item to help keep 15 mo near me in public places, such as an airport or zoo. The detachable leash is nice option to have, so it can be used as a standard backpack. It easily holds a spare diaper and wipe pouch for quick outings.
