Wow
Admittedly I know nothing about light bulbs. But these impressed me! I did a suspended DIY lighting thing over my 55 gallon long fish tank because I was sick of that awful hood. Three of these have lit up that tank like the surface of the sun! (In brightness, not heat! They are NOT hot, except maybe touching the bulb itself for more than a few seconds!). I could not believe how bright they were! My fish are happy. My aquatic plants are growing. I had to tilt one of the three tank lights away it was that bright, so my houseplants are now all leaning away from the window and towards the artificial bulb! Amazing.Edited to add, March 17, 2014: Two of the three I purchased burned out today. Oddly enough, both blew at the same time, so I'm not sure it's the bulb. Sounds like maybe a surge or something. Either way, I'm happy with the bulbs and will likely re-purchase.

Well worth it, start you summer garden indoors early
I purchased this on November 30, 2015, today is September 16, 2017, I've had this bulb going around 15 hours a day the whole time and it's still going strong. I use it for my cactus starts and some more mature cactus while I'm waiting to set up a more permanent habitat after an upcoming move. In spring I also use it to start my veggies and sunflowers. I have a tobacco plant that is on a dresser about halfway between a window and this bulb, which is screwed into a standard medium sized table lamp, the tobacco plant consistently grows aggressively toward the bulb. I highly recommend this for its long life and low price.

Great, if your plants will be ready to harvest in just one month.....
This light bulb did not even last one month! I bought it in March, around the 10, and I started using it as soon as my seedlings were about 4-5 inches tall. I turned it on (an analog timer) ~10 hours a day on about March 25 or so. I checked it last night, and it was burnt out! Thankfully I have a light bulb I bought from somewhere else that I know will last longer. This sucks! That's a lot of money for me to be wasting once a month. I need to find a bulb that will actually last

So far pretty pleased with the product
I really was not sure what to expect when I bought these. They turned out to be slightly larger than I thought, but that was not a problem. I installed 2 of them in a ceiling fixture in a dark hallway where I wanted a tropical plant. Much to my surprise not only is the plant surviving, but it's also growing and new leaves forming. We do have to rotate the plant, because it is reaching for the light, and becomes a bit lopsided. So far pretty pleased with the product.

long lasting sun light bulb
I already had three of these bulbs, purchased last year, and they were great all winter. My plants came through and actually grew new plants from their own seed when I put them outside. I thought I really needed more light on the plants so I bought these two bulbs for use this year giving me a total of five. I highly recommend them. Each bulb costs about $12.50 in electricity for 12 months. I only use them from Nov.-April. So it is less than half that per bulb per year. I use them on a timer so I don't have to remember to turn them off and on.

Bonsai Tree loved it while it worked...
This bulb seemed to work wonderfully for my bonsai tree. However it didn't even come close to the 10,000 hour mark. My particular bulb only lasted roughly 1800 hours before calling it quits. Also it should be noted that when it died I'm glad I noticed that it wasn't on when it should've been (it's on a timer) because when I looked at it the bottom of the CFL coil was glowing yellowish orange and the base of the bulb where the ballast is was very hot. Had this been left on like this all day it may have caused a problem. I uploaded a photo of what the bulb looks like when it was blown.

Great product for your money
I was hesitant to order these online; were they going to break? Would they last? Will they work for my plants? So far, everything has turned out better than expected. They came in a box waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too big, but it ensured that they would not break. I'm very happy with that. So far my orchids have responded very well to these lights, they are very very bright but they are easier on the eyes than the simple basking light bulbs meant for reptiles. These are also much cooler than the basking bulbs too. So far I recommend these for anyone who needs more natural light and/or for plants.

Plants are Thriving!
We have a large herb garden (oregano, basil, cilantro, parsley, mint, etc) that has to be moved indoors once winter approaches. We installed these lights in our basement garden (really just a table with a bunch of pots) and the plants are all still thriving. They seemed to need a small period of adjustment when we moved them inside, but now they're all doing well and growing. We had tried other bulbs in the past, but the plants just didn't seem to respond to them. We purchased these because of good reviews and are very happy we did.
