The best feature of this strainer is the high quality tight coil, which is great at keeping small ice shards, muddled fruit, etc. out of the finished drink. Also, I run mine through the dishwasher and have had no problems with rusting or any other quality issues. The only possible downside is the strainer itself has a slightly smaller diameter than some similar competing products. For example, it fits perfectly in a pint glass / tumbler side of a boston shaker, but has some play in the larger shaker tin side. Some other brands fit more snugly in the tin side and are a tight squeeze into the pint glass side. In practical use, this doesn't matter as I'm always holding the strainer onto the vessel I'm pouring out of, and the prongs are plenty wide to keep the strainer securely on top. All in all if I needed another hawthorne strainer, this would be my first stop.

Very tightly wound spring (picture is accurate) does a great job of keeping ice chips out of my cocktails. It fits my Boston shakers and does well with open or closed pours. The edges aren't too sharp, so I don't have to worry about cutting myself while handling.

Just arrived, very fast shipping with Prime. I took it apart to clean as you should with any food contact tool and the spring looks great, some minor tweaks to the spring rail were needed but could easily have been caused during storage or shipping, either way no complaints about quality or presentation. As for the size... I have used hawthorns with no handle, who cares about the length of the handle... also it fits in all 4 shakers I have in my house so there is that too. (4 different brands)

Awesome cocktail strainer for a good price. Sturdy construction and made from quality materials. Easy to clean, use, and store. I store all my cocktail tools in as shaker cup and the only thing I would change on this tool is the handle. If the handle were longer it would fit in the shaker cup better. No star deduction for this since it is really only relevant to me.

Made my first drink and worked like a charm, however, I wish the base plate was thicker.

This hawthorn strainer is well with the money. Do your homework people… a lot of strainers have less rings per inch than this one. This hawthorn strainer ensures no little bits of ice make it into your cocktail.

Materials high quality, but there are so many coils in the spring, it won't compress to allow the strainer to fit in the mixing glass. This strainer wouldn't work in 2 different mixing glasses I have. No time to return because I needed it for Christmas. I was able to salvage it by removing the spring, cutting off some coils, and reinstalling it.

This is by far the best hawthorn strainer I've ever used! Bought 4 for a busy bar and they hold up so well! The extremely tight spring strains so much better than any other I've used in my 20 years behind the bar. I just hope they come back in stock....

Perfect Hawthorne strainer. Tight coils that catch most of the ice/fruit etc. Fits my shaker and mixing glass and very easy to close the gate one-handed. Stainless steel, so no worry about rusting. Recommended.

Hasta ahora lo he usado en mis cócteles que preparo en el vaso de mezclas. Buen resultado; parece bastante solido y de buena calidad. Filtra bien, sin retener el líquido. Se ajusta muy bien al vaso de mezclas.
