Keep Them Out for $69....
Had someone try and kickdown the door...it damaged the frame, so this item was a way to "fix" the frame and add additional reinforcement. The good, for $69, it's cheap insurance, and less than an hour to install. The bad, the screws are too thin, which will make getting the last 1/4" or so in without sheering off the head. Hint: If you have a crayon, put some of it into the predrilled hole, and the wax will reduce the friction just enough to help get the last length of the screw flush. I am going to buy another for the door that accesses the garage.

WORKS!
Worked as described. Easy to install. Much better than replacing the whole jamb! Just wish it was a little nicer looking...

Almost Perfect!
This is a great and very simple to install product. I had to cave man my door due to accidentally being locked out. This not only covered all the damage but re-enforced at a level beyond what it used to be. I may still be able to kick it in but it would take a lot of effort. The only con, and it's mentioned in other reviews is the bit that they give you for screws. Yes, it does fit correctly, however the screws are coated (which is a good thing to prevent rust). But the coating overlaps the head of the screw and is in the inlet for the bit causing it to fit incorrectly. Chisel that little bit of coating out and then screw your screw in and you will not have any problems. It also recommends and 11/64" pilot hole. I used 7/64" and had no problems at all. Highly recommend.

Simple and worked for me!
One draw back, the driver tip provided broke after installing the second screw. I used an oscillating tool on the existing trim to add a grove/slot so I did not need to remove the trim and the holes matched the locks. Predrill for the screws. Finally I added a tiny bit if caulk for looks. Of course vacuum and general clean up. Your done! Just a note: If someone READY wants in, They will get in. They'll just find another way. Why make it easy?

Bought one, installed it and bought three more
After my door was broken into and I needed to fix the frame and harden the door from any other types of abuse, I purchased one of these door jamb reinforcements. Because I had to repair the frame, it was a tight fit and a bit complicated I had to do some modifications to the frame so I would say that was a custom install and not the "normal" one. The police said that from the video the "deleted expletive" thief kicked the door in and that "what was I expecting a piece of wood to do?" Since I had to repair the frame anyway, "what was I expecting a piece of wood to do?" I like the length of the jamb reinforcement to distribute force more effectively, the long screws to get into solid lumber. I was so pleased with how it secured the door that I purchased 3 more jamb reinforcements for my other doors and those went in just like the instructions detail. There's a bit of peace of mind knowing that it will take some criminal type a lot longer and they'll have to actually work for a living if they were to try to break in again.

Biggest pile of crap ever. I'm shocked
Biggest pile of crap ever. I'm shocked. The screws they sent with the jamb repair are nice and long but of such low quality metal that I can bend them with my fingers. Additionally, the screwdriver tip they sent to drive in the special square headed screws didn't fit properly and insta-stripped every screw head before they could be driven fully into the jamb. I've been in construction for over 20 years so ability, process used or tools are not the issue here - it's the junk they sent to be used for their installation. Then to top it all off, they charge me over $40 for this frustration and I'm no closer to resolving my issue. I'd recommend NEVER buying this junk from these fools again.

I'm happy with it.
Easy to install. It may not be sold to repair a broken jamb, but that's what I'm using it for. No problems!
