May not work with some chargers.
For the record I am reviewing: EBL Pack of 8 10000mAh Ni-MH D Cells Rechargeable Batteries, Battery Case Included.I have a FC999 Mark III charger that can charge any battery. Or at least the charger used to be able to charge any battery. I tested these when they arrived today and they all had between 2/3 and 3/4 of a charge in them. So, I put them on my charger, and they charger would not charge them and identified them as defective. I only tried 4 of the 8, but if all 4 are bad, then there was no point in trying the others. My charger has charged every other type of battery that I have. I mean all of them without any problems so I thought it was not the charger, as a matter of fact I am using it right now to charge other batteries. I have a feeling you have to have their brand name charger in order to charge these and I am not going to buy another charger just for these batteries when every other battery I have including alkaline ones will charge on my smart charger. I would not buy this brand, unless you buy it with a charger from the same company.P.S. I contact the maker of my charger, and they said that the charger may have a problem with charging a battery with a 10,000 mAh capacity. So, I did return these batteries without buying a new charger. But in all fairness, I cannot say anything bad about these batteries except for the fact that you need to have the right charger to charge them. If you attempt to charge them with a charger that is not rated for this type battery you may have problems. I would check to make sure that you either buy the right kind of charger with the new batteries or contact the maker of the charger you have first to verify that your charger can in fact charge these batteries. One last note. The company that sells these contacted me and offered to replace them free of charge, and went above and beyond when it comes to customer service. I consider that to be worthy of a five star rating, even if the batteries did not work for me.

A good alternative and eco-friendly
Good alternative to “conventional” D-cell batteries. No complaints. Charging process is simple but takes some hours to fully charge. Batteries appear to hold charge for a reasonable length of time but perhaps a bit less than conventional.

An investment worth your time and money
As I stated in heading, it’s an investment. I did a lot of research and this brand came up and I’m glad I chose it. We use these from everything from mouse to keyboards to remote controls to remote to just about anything in our household.I have bought all the sizes and I do have two of the 16 port chargers that this brand works with and so far I have charged the batteries up and put them in a caddy and a month later they’re still holding charge. They seem to have longevity, regardless, whether it’s being active or sitting in a caddy. As I said, I did a lot of reviews and I wanted something that would take a beating, something that would have long power and decent power when it is active. And most importantly, something that doesn’t die just because of sitting there in a cradle.Just do your research and realize that it’s gonna cost you more upfront, but changing your household to rechargeable batteries is a long time investment, but worth the value not having to buy and throw away batteries all the time.

Update - need to charge before use
This set of 8 Nimh D cells is the first size I bought from EBL. I have purchased other sizes since. I tested the D-cells in a 4-cell Maglite flashlight and was surprised at the result. With the flashlight on continuously, I judged that it burned at full brightness for 24 hours and then began slowly declining up to 36 hours - it was very dim by then, but not dead. I also like the reusable molded plastic 2-pack containers the EBL Nimh batteries come in, either for storing those batteries or for other batteries, such as, standard carbon batteries. This result was with an LED lamp, The old standard lamp uses a lot more oower.Update 12-19-2021: I mistakenly called these batteries lithium, but they are actually Ni-MH. They do not come fully charged as claimed. They should be charged in a good charger before using. Beware of cheap chargers. I put 4 barely used batteries and 4 that had never been unsealed in a new advanced charger with individual cell controls and found that all 8 required many hours to reach full charge. I am not saying there is anything wrong with the batteries, only that they should be charged before use.Update 12-19-2021 I mistakenly called these batteries lithium - they are actually Ni-MH. What I want buyers to know is that while the writeup says they come fully charged, that is far from the case. I wondered why the light in my Maglite flashlight was so dim. I put the 4 with very little use so far and the 4 which were never unsealed in a newly purchased advanced charger with individual cell controls and found that they all took many hours to reach full charge. I do not mean that there is anything wrong with the batteries, but only that they need to be charged before using.
