So far, so good.
I have burned computers out before with my use and this has, so far, kept my new laptop from even getting warm. I keep it connected and on my laptop at all times and have been running it for about 10 hours a day 5-6 days a week and it is still going so it seems like high quality. I like the fact that they design it to be able to be setup and many different angles and thereby making it easier to connect. The feet at the end of the pad keep my laptop in place and I do not have to worry about it sliding off. I was concerned that the noise level was going to be too much based on other reviews, but I truly have zero issue with the noise. I have actually checked a couple times to make sure it is working. Overall solid design and build.

love it
the noise is whisper quiet even with all fans running, very comfortable for my laptop and strong but light... buying one more for my sister, keeps my laptop very cool, great value for money, easy to setup and start working right away, love the color matches great with my laptop, will get purple lights for my sister, loving the design of it.

Works, But Some of the Review Videos are Deceptive. Little Airflow when Flat
Well, it's basically like this - the cooling pad does work and it does lower the laptop temperature - in my instance, it lowers the temperature about 10 - 20 degrees C, so my laptop runs between 50 - 60 degrees C instead of 70 - 80 degrees C (old Dell XPS laptops tend to run pretty hot) - that's why I bought it and that's why I'm giving it 4 stars. However, it's really not made to run flat on a table. In spite of videos I've seen for this product, airflow is greatly reduced when laid flat. There is little room to suck in air when laid flat so this is to be expected - no matter how fast a fan spins or how many fans there are, if there's no air intake, there's no air outgo. The cooling pad stand is a bit flimsy and I can see why people complain about it. Both the plastic stand and the metal bracket are removable. it is loose and floppy but I added a couple of Velcro dots just behind where the metal bracket connects to the cooling pad - it seems to do the trick without being too obtrusive. If the stand winds up breaking, I'll probably either glue it back together or remove it and add some sort of spacer for air flow. Four of the fans in the pad are smaller standard computer case fans and plug into the control board. The center fan is about twice the size of a standard fan and would probably be more difficult to replace. The fans are controlled by two push switches in the back, one for the 4 smaller fans and 1 for the larger fan. I have no idea how durable they are but it is comforting to know that I can easily replace 4 of the fans should one of them fail. The pad lights up (mine lights up blue) and I suppose that's cool but it really doesn't make a difference unless the room lights are off. The lights are intrinsic to the fans and are not logically connected to the laptop keyboard backlight so they're either on or off. It doesn't really make any difference to me - I got it to cool the laptop, not for looks. The cord is too short to plug into anything except the laptop or a docking station. I suppose I could get an extension if I run out of USB ports. Except for the lack of airflow when flat, I got what I expected.

Affordable, Effective, and Fits My Desk Perfectly
When purchasing an expensive laptop, whether that be a dedicated workstation or a powerful setup that can also accommodate gaming, you'll want to consider this product among others in its peer group for a good value purchase. My journey - I needed a platform that would allow for airflow between my latop and my desk, I needed a cooling mechanism that would help with heat dispersion, and I needed something that looked somewhat professional during the day with a little flare of blue LED lights when I'm in the office at night gaming. For me, this product meets that criteria, and it turned out to be a perfect fit for a 16" laptop. Considerations for Purchase - The technology for stock cooling systems on gaming/workstation laptops has dramatically evolved over the years, but it doesn't hurt to get good airflow to the motherboard, processor, and GPU (especially if ambient temperatures are already high). For me, I view this as a peace of mind purchase that comes with a couple of extra USB ports for charging electronics. Things you might not like - The fans, even when all are active, are reasonably quiet and the platform feels very cool to the touch, but I feel like it might not be enough for laptops under a heavy workload putting in long hours of gaming. Competitive gamers will know that temperature can impact component performance (and lifespan), and I personally would not spare power for those reasons. The noise level is not nearly as high as the 6-fan suite inside my gaming desktop case, but the engineering of this pad does seem to be more than what meets the eyes and ears. Ultimately, I think this is the best product for my personal purposes. However, if I was looking for a cooling pad for full-time, extended hours gaming on my laptop, I would consider other more powerful pads before committing to any of them - and make sure it's the right size!

On the fence between quality and price point
I was skeptical about buying a 5 fan cooling mat, due to none of the fans on this lines up with my fans/cents on the bottom of my laptop, I checked a couple random product review pages for best quality and this one showed up, for $25 I was sure it'd be cheap and poor quality, it's not the sturdiest setup ever, if you lift it the bottom leg just flips around and you might break it off if you're not careful but I fixed that with leather string, my laptop is older, a 2010 Lenovo v570, and for the last year it's not able to perform as it did in 2011(yes, I know. Lol) and programs will crash, and it gets so blazing hot... long story short, I'm very happy with it, very very quiet, the blue lights are subtle and it cools my laptop just just about room temp in a couple mins with all 5 fans running, probably cools it...30-40° a huge difference between no cooling mat, and this one with all the fans going, with my laptop rubber feet there's about a 1/8inch between the surface of the cooling pad and my laptop, it's not big and bulky and thick, it fits in my laptop carry bag, which is on the bigger side bc I have a lot of laptop accessories, but I do wish the cord to plug it in was longer bc it's 3ft and I'm having to use a 15ft extension cord to keep it running, and it's a USB port, it's meant to plug directly into your laptop but I don't recommend it bc it sent my hard drive into a tizzy and my hard drive light wasn't flashing it was solidly lit up which worried me, especially with my ancient machine. I like that you can have the 4 outter fans running, or just the 1 big middle fan. The flip up feet to hold your laptop on when it's inclined are ok, almost to short for me though they sit just where my laptop starts to round where the top and bottom are joined, so I gave to be careful I don't bump it or it'll come crashing down, it's a good width and depth, metal mesh top, plastic bottom, for $25 is it worth it?, well I bought the warranty with it, so only time will tell but having had it less than a couple weeks, so far, ya I'd buy it again, and I do recommend it to others. The plastic bottom bracket almost makes it feel like cheap chintzy quality to me. I like things build solid, sturdy, a little heavy. This is very very light weight. If the bottom bracket didn't flop around freely, the option of a longer cord (3,5,7,10ft cords) and slightly longer flip up feet (updated options in the future maybe?) I would gladly pay up to $60 and was almost expecting to pay about $75 for this product.

Works great
Fans work amazing. I love the on and off switches for the different fans. I noticed a significant difference in temps and the lagging that comes with them. Laptop doesnt slide at all when its in place. Its not very heavy, but it is a little bit bulky. Will not fit in my backpack with my laptop.

Does what it needs to, but has some serious drawbacks
I waffled back and forth over how to rate this item, and eventually settled on an average score. For me, this item does exactly what I need it to do, but some of the features didn't live up to their potential and might be deal breakers for other purchasers. I have a laptop that lives on my bed. I watch movies on it as I'm falling asleep. It's an older cheaper model, so it gets really warm, especially when engulfed in blankets. I needed something that would lift my laptop off the comforter and cool it down. This cooling pad does exactly that. I had read other reviews, so I knew going in that the lights and the fans were not on separate controls. If the fan is on, the light is on. This feature makes me sad, because I didn't realize just how bright the lights would be in a dark bedroom with white walls (see attached image.) Since the lifting off the surface provides enough ventilation for my laptop to not overheat, I don't need the fans on 24/7. I also can fall asleep in a room that isn't pitch black. Be aware - the lights are pretty bright. I have 2 external hard drives with media on them, and my original plan was to plug them into the 2 USB connections on the back of the laptop pad. Imagine my surprise when that didn't work at all. I checked the instructions, and discovered that this item uses a LOT of USB power. When this is plugged into a laptop, you might be able to use a mouse or keyboard with it (although I didn't try either). You definitely CANNOT use an external HD with it. This would have made me very sad, except that I have numerous different USB power sources, so I used a device with a long cord that plugs into the wall and simultaneously charges 4 USB devices to power the cooling fan. It works great, and I don't need to plug anything into the 2 USB connections on the laptop pad. Instead, I plugged my HD's directly into my computer, which is totally capable of powering them when the cooling pad isn't plugged in and stealing all the power. I definitely recommend using external power, which is fairly easy to come by since almost every phone charger has a USB input nowadays. The only downside to that is that the cord isn't very long, so you either need a USB extension cord or a charger with a long cord. Or you need to keep this device really close to an outlet. As for the function of the device, it works great. The fans are powerful enough to keep my laptop nice and cool, and if I run them during the day I can turn them off at night if the blue light is bothering me. Setup was simple, the size is perfect, and the little feet that keep the laptop from sliding off are strong enough to work on my not-so-thin not-so-light laptop. I also like that the height is adjustable, although once I found the angle I liked I didn't change it. My laptop (and my comforter) are no longer hot to the touch, which was a huge issue before purchasing this item. If you don't need the USB connections and you don't care about the light, this item is awesome. Otherwise, it might be extremely disappointing.

Its a Work Horse
Its a workhorse. I have had this laptop cooler for three years and have never turned the fan or light off. I just forget because its pretty quiet and its still quiet after all this time. I have a gaming laptop that runs pretty hot with overclocking and high fps and it has never crashed from overheating on me. I highly recommend this laptop cooler and will be buying it again maybe for a new color.
