Ranger MDM46424 Dina Wakley Media Gesso 4oz Jar-Clear, Clear

I think I've reviewed this product before but I can't say enough good about it. I used to use Art Basics clear gesso but no longer use it as I have to remember which products can be used on top of it and also because it's gritty. Dina Wakley has a nice comparatively smooth finish and can be used with all of the media I've chosen to use. Colored pencils work especially well with this gesso as it gives the Journaling Bible pages more "tooth" to lay on more colors with nice depth. With a heat tool, it dries quickly. The product does make my Bible pages curl a bit so I either use Washi tape to hold the pages flat or I just close the Bible for a day or so until I win the battle and the pages stay flat. I've begun to prep more than one page at a time so the pages are ready when I am to create on them. I wouldn't journal without this product and feel like the extra time it takes to prep pages is well worth it. Would only recommend this clear gesso for Art Journaling.

Works perfectly for Bible Journaling. Easy to put on, gives a nice texture to the page (almost a rough texture). I like this because my Bible pages are very thin and with this I am able to use watercolors, sharpie pens, paint pens, basically anything I would like to use to create art in my Bible without worrying about it showing on the other side. The texture of the gesso once dried gives my page a thicker feel. I have used this almost every entry since I received it and you really don't need much! One of these would probably cover every page in my Bible!

I've only used this product once, but it did the job I needed it to do. I was Bible Journaling and used a Napkin in my Bible. It was just what I needed to adhere the napkin to the Bible page. Turned out great. I highly recommend it. Be sure to order the CLEAR on if you are using it as I was in a Bible Journaling page.

I would imagine I could do a lot of canvases with this little jar, of course, depending on the canvas size. I used it on my paint by numbers canvas, and it does make the paint cover much better. Super easy to apply and it dries fast.

I ordered this as an alternative to expensive Golden gesso medium for canvas and board. I have applied this to unprimed cotton canvas boards for use in acrylic impasto painting. Very happy with the fluidity when brushing it on the canvas boards. Any ridges from the brush settle out and it leaves a smooth surface. It provides good "tooth" for heavy body acrylic paints. It does seem to take a little longer to dry between each coat of gesso (I usually do two or three, sanding lightly between), but I'm okay with that. Also, due to the fluidity of the gesso, a little goes a long way making this jar actually a good deal, price-wise. I work at an art store and believe me, I have experimented with gesso! I'm very happy with this brand as an affordable alternative to other higher end brands.

Used this to cover book pages I was painting on, it provided good coverage and allowed me to paint with water colors without soaking through, it did the job!
