Very good to excellent BT all around
I finally found a suitable wireless earbud. I needed great sound and long battery life. I tried the Tozo 10, Boltune (BH 024) and Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro (refurbed). Sound quality of Tozo was good but inconsistent and battery life was poor. I bought Soundcore Liberty 2 pro refurbed and sound was inconsistent and had major hissing with low battery life. I returned both. The Boltune BH 024 provided 5-6 hrs of battery life, good clarity, no bass response, fair volume, excellent phone call clarity, and adequate pairing reliability (difficulty pairing with Ipad). The Sony XB 700: Fit: takes getting used to the feel in ear. They are large in comparison to all above and for first few days felt like they were falling out because they touch outside of ear. They are not loose or falling out just feels that way. Got used to it after a week. They do stick out from ear so they are not at all discreet. Sound quality: very good with actual lows (yeah) that are not over powering. Clarity of music and voice is good and no distortion at high volume. Probably equal to about 100 decibels which is good for me. On Iphone 10 I dont need to play at full volume to experience soundstage. Try the different size rubber buds with them. I went to the biggest size in pack and they provide really good sound isolation and comfort. VOICE Calls: average in terms of other people hearing me ok. I hear them perfectly. Battery life: excellent, easily over 7 hours Pairing: reliable and consistent I prefer button control on these vs. touch control as I had diff. adjusting earbuds without hitting touch controls on TOZO. Bluetooth range: by far the best of any above 30 feet with no problems Cons: large and stick out from ear Fit: snug but takes getting used to them

Really nice sound and comfort!
I recently bought these and the JBL Live 300 phones to compare the two so my review is a short staright-to-the-point breakdown between them: Sound: The Sony 700 has much better bass overall than the JBL 300. The JBL's have a little bit better mid-range and treble, which was great but I'm a basshead and the JBL surprisingly lacked deep sub-bass, overall decent bass though, just lacking for my tastes. The Sony has pretty dang good sub-bass, but lacks a little tiny bit in the clarity, mids, and higher frequencies, but an has overall good sound to me. Sony wins for me. Fit/Comfort: The Sony ear tips are a much better fit for my ears and I prefer the material and feel of the Sony tips. With the JBL I can not get a good fit in my right ear so it keeps falling out. The Sony's haven't fallen out, but they did come a little close though. Haven't tried either for heavy physical activity such as running or working out, so can't comment on those yet. Sony wins for the tips and getting a perfect seal. The JBL's stick out of my ears a tiny bit, so wearing a loose fitting beanie or helmet, and sleeping with them on is tolerable. The Sony's stick out of my ears quite a bit so wearing a beanie or helmet is very uncomfortable and kind of painful. I have completely ruled out sleeping with the Sony's on. The overall feel of the earbuds and end product goes to JBL though, they just feel more smooth and solid, and have a luxury feel to them. The Sony's feel a little bit cheap and hollow. Ease of use/Connectivity: The most annoying thing about the JBL's are they keep cutting out quite often, and my phone was in my pocket every time! Extremely annoying and unacceptable to me. The Sony has not cut out once in many many hours of use. Sony winds for connectivity. The JBL's automatically paired with my phone which was really cool. I had to pair the Sony's by holding in the buttons. Google Assistant is nice to have with the JBL's but not necessary for me. No voice control with the Sony's. Pairing is much better overall with the JBL's. Physical buttons on the Sony's, touch on the JBL's. I found myself touching the controls accidentally on the JBL's every time I adjusted them and it would pause the music. Very annoying. I rarely ever accidentally pause the music with the Sony's. I prefer a tactile button over touch. The overall feel of the earbuds and end product goes to JBL though, they just feel more smooth and solid, and have a luxury feel to them. The Sony's feel a little bit cheap and hollow. Conclusion: The Sony WF-XB700 wins in almost every area for me personally. My main gripe with the Sony's are they stick out too much, I wish they were flush with my ear. Also if the Sony's had the mids and treble of the JBL they would be perfect.

ANOTHER Stellar Sony Product
I've been a Sony fan for, well, let's see, pretty much as long as I can remember actually. I work in radio and since my very first days on-air, I've worn Sony headphones (the MDR-7506 Professional's are the recording industry standard BTW). To be clear, Sony does make some lesser quality products which have a price tag that goes along with it, so keep that in mind...but if you buy a pair of earbuds by them that aren't cheap, odd's are they are going to be excellent. The WF-XB700 earbuds are fantastic. It's hard to know where to begin. Since I'm in broadcasting, one of the downsides is that you become absolutely crystal clearly aware of what decent, good and excellent audio quality is and you learn it quite fast actually. The downside is you become uncomfortably aware of bad audio, and that includes earbuds and headphones. The upside is when you find a great pair of either, you know you've stumbled upon something great. These earbuds are truly special. No they aren't the smallest buds you're going to find available. But keep in mind, the smaller they are, the less quality that audio typically tends to be...not always mind you, but more often than not. They are smaller than my Bose SoundSport Free's (which also sound fantastic) and they are more comfortable to wear long-term as well. The case they come with is about the same size (roughly) as my Galaxy Buds case, but slopes down in the front a bit more. They are plastic, but they don't "feel" cheap if that means anything. The battery life on these are quite impressive, too. While the case does not support wireless charging, it does offer impressive quick charging...as in ten minutes plugged in will give you around 60 minutes of listening time, which is pretty great actually and significantly better than both my Bose and the Galaxy Buds. I was a little surprised they did not come with a companion app to download for further music customizing. It's nice to further tweak the settings to get the absolute most out of your music...however, I tend to use my earbuds connected to either my Galaxy Watch 3 or my regular bluetooth mp3 player, neither of which can adjust the music or fine-tune the settings to give more bass, less or extra highs and soforth...so for my particular tastes, not having that app hasn't really messed with my enjoyment whatsoever. They come with several pairs of silicone ear-tips to swap out for a better fit in your ear, so it is worth the time to invest in finding the pair that fits best for you. As I mentioned before, wearing these is really great because they don't contribute to ear fatigue like so many other earbuds can do (including my Bose, which may sound fantastic, but wearing them for more than an hour tends to, well, you tend to REALLY know you're wearing them. The Sony's are the opposite...but keep in mind everyone's ears are different and your experience may vary. The audio quality is just stellar. Great highs, mid's AND lows. They say Extra Bass but I didn't think they had as much as I was expecting. I have a pair of Extra Bass wireless Sony headphones and those things will thump your brain even with the extra bass turned OFF...so I expected these to be somewhere in the same neighborhood and I am happy to say they weren't. Please do not take this as I think the bass is lacking...because I don't. The bass is exceptional and on par with my SoundSport Free earbuds...I just don't think they are as powerful as I expected--which is a GOOD THING. Too much artificial bass is super annoying to me. With these you get just about the perfect amount to enjoy the music to it's fullest. The mid's and highs are clear enough that you can hear speaking and singing quite clearly, too. All in all, for the money, these are about the best sounding earbuds I have ever tried and I ALMOST bought the more expensive noise cancelling WF-SP800N (which are about $70 more)...I'm happy I didn't spend the extra $$ because while the WF-XB700 EXTRA BASS doesn't have noise cancelling, it does have noise isolation which works really well. The latest trend with earbuds is to have touch-sensitive control...well this is one area Sony chose not to follow everyone else. Instead they went with physical buttons on both earbuds. They are tiny and easy to access and what I like about them over the usual touch sensitive buttons are you are less likely to accidentally skip a track, or pause a song just by reaching up to pull one out or adjust it during a particularly vigorous workout. I have had this with many, MANY other earbuds and honestly, I really dislike the feature to be honest. Maybe one day someone will figure out the best all-around way to make the feature fool proof or at least easier to use without accidentally doing something you did not intend to do, but until then, having actual buttons is my personal preference so it doesn't bug me in the slightest...but if you personally prefer the touch sensitive kind, it is something to consider. I think the only other thing I wish to point out is a very small gripe...the charging cord is really short. Like it's 8" long and that's it. I would have preferred one that was roughly 2-3 feet in length if I'm being honest, but 8 inches?? Who thought that was a good idea? Kudos for making them USB-C however. The transition from Micro USB to the newer USB-C shouldn't have taken this long and it's disappointing when I see something sold today that still employs the older tech, but I suppose in the grand scheme of things, this is a very minor thing to complain about...but for some it's absolutely valid. All in all, another all-around Stellar audio product from one of my all-time favorite audio companies. If I could make any changes, it'd be the inclusion of a downloadable app for further audio tweaking, wireless charging and a longer charging cord. Honestly, that is all I would change about them to be totally honest. I know many have other reasons for liking or disliking them, but that in no way takes away from the absolutely fantastic audio these earbuds will provide you with. I would NOT hesitate to recommend them AND buy another pair.

Writing this after using it for a week. I own a Bose Soundsport TWS, so, my comparison is with Bose. Battery - Excellent, no complaints. 9-10 hours. 5 STAR. Calls - during phone calls, other side caller can hear you clearly but you will hear a hollow effect, like the caller is talking through a PVC tube. So, I give 4 STAR BT Connectvity - I did not face any problems with Left & Right connectivity on calls or music. For Calls, you can use Left earbud independently or both together. Good with my iphone 11 but drops intermittently when connected to PC for music or calls, breaks 6-7 times average per minute but reconnects immediately within a sec. - 4 STAR (for calls) Music - Excellent. Bass/LF is excellent, Mid frequency is also good. in the HF department, it is slightly less, maybe 5% to 7%. Stereo separation is better than Bose. Overall, SONY WF-XB 700 is excellent. Fitting is excellent, Wearing it for 4-5 hours does not pain or hurt and I even forgot that I have a earbud in my ear. (with Bose, I remove it every time after calls). The only CON is, the plastic lid is very flimsy and cheap and always seed a fear of breaking any moment.

I can't sync it to my Samsung Note 10. I can sync it with my Garmin Venu watch, but the device switches off after 20 seconds by itself and does not come back on. This happened even though the device was fully charged. Tried it like several dozens of times in different ways. It never happened to me with my other ear bud which is Pamu. My Pamu fell and simply split into two pieces and I thought the Sony would be a good replacement. Not so, I was fooled by the brand.
