Star Wars Death Star Waffle Maker

I purchased this for my son-in-law who is a HUGE Star Wars Fan! He loves it! Works great and is easy to use!

Product was purchased as used via Amazon Warehouse deals ("used" in this case meant that someone had ripped open the box, decided they didn't want it, and returned it). Product was delivered promptly and arrived in advertised condition. It was given as a birthday gift and we made waffles with it right away. We used a recipe off the Internet, instead of one of the recipes in the instruction booklet, although those recipes look good, too. The waffle maker worked well, and creates nicely detailed Death Star waffles. We found that we needed to experiment with the heat settings and the amount of batter to get the right consistency and ensure the waffles were thoroughly cooked. Once we determined the best setting (we turned it up to the highest setting) and the right amount of batter after the first batch, they turned out perfectly. Please note that this waffle maker will not create waffles with deep grooves and pockets for syrup, as a traditional Belgian-style waffle maker would. The waffles will be closer to a pancake consistency, as a result. However, they tasted great and we had a fun breakfast experience eating "Death Stars". Highly recommended for any Star Wars fan.

I have never had a waffle maker and I am a big Star Wars fan, so this was perfect for me.It was easy to uses,The only things that it takes a few tries to 1. get used to how much mix to put in to get a complete waffle, and 2. how long to cook it to get how you like it.Other then that it just fun.Waffles taste better when it is Star Wars.

I planned to purchase this for the holidays to surprise my sons who are both big star wars fans, though they are adults now. But, hey, they love waffles! Unfortunately, everywhere was sold out so I was pleasantly surprised to find this on Amazon just after Christmas. Shipping said two weeks but it arrived in just a few days. As far as operation goes, the waffle maker is "okay". It's a little bit of a challenge to figure out how much batter to put in it. Too much and it dribbles out the sides, too little and you only get the death star on the bottom side. It takes about twice as much batter to get a proper Death Star as it does to get a regular sized waffle in my Oster belgian waffle maker. My daughter figured out that if you put a paper weight or other heavy object on the lid, it works better because the batter can't rise up in the center and it will cook more evenly. Other thing is, it does have a tendency to stick a little bit which I remedied by using Pam somewhat liberally. Overall, it was easier to clean than my regular waffle maker, but required a toothpick. Has a temperature setting on the top which confused me a bit, but I just put it on max and that seemed to be just fine. The waffles it makes are more like thick giant pancakes, really, but tasted the same and cooked through which is the important thing. Great novelty for the Star Wars diehards, but probably not something I will use every day. Best advice: make a double batch of batter and play with the volume until you figure out the exact amount.

This product is off the hook! I've seen some reviews that complained that the waffle maker was more like a pancake as the grooves are not as deep as some of your more traditional waffle-makers; in the end though, i think it comes down to personal preference. I like the pancake-y softer feel of the waffle it makes, so again, it's probably just personal opinion as to what you like best when sitting down to eat a waffle. This product was easy to clean and yes, makes your waffle look like a fantastic replica of the death-star. For all your star wars afficianados, i don't think you can go wrong with this product. The price is very affordable and as far as novelty goes, you really can't beat it. Will you have restaurant quality waffles on your breakfast (or other meal times) plate? Probably not, but I don't think you could expect to have a more functional waffle-maker than this for the money you spend. If you or your family member are in to star wars and you like seeing something a little outside the norm, I highly recommend this product as a gift!

This was an absolute Mom win! To be able to surprise my children with Death Star waffles on May the Fourth was pretty much the greatest mom victory of all time!Turn it all the way to max, spread about a cup of batter all the way around, and you will have perfect Death Stars every time!

Easy to use and change the settings so each person gets a waffle made to their preferences! It takes some practice to figure out. My husband thought it was great!
