Crazy Bright!
This little guy is incredibly handy. I waited until I was out on a longer trip and knew I'd have the truck running for a while (I don't have a constant-on power outlet, only when the truck is running) and did as the instructions suggested, let the light charge for at least one hour straight before using it. It's been perfectly functional ever since with only spotty charge times at best. I think I've probably put about an hour of active use on the light, but it's not dimmed or failed to function each and every time. Even getting under the hood at night there's no problem whatsoever seeing everything. For it's small size it is just incredibly bright. My only concern ever has been that there's not a lot of heft to it, so it's not as if it can be palmed or gripped very securely, but really easy on a three-fingered grip. I'm not exactly sure what the plastic collar is for anymore. At one time the manual had convinced me I needed it based on the outlet I had, but I couldn't get the light to stay plugged in well enough to contact for a steady charge. Collar got pitched and I have no problem at all. Fantastic little unit. Well worth the money.

Gear rechargeable LED vehicle light
Item arrived with a damaged adapter part. Limits the ability of the light to be placed in a universal vehicle power outlet. Otherwise the item is satisfactory. Need to develop a less fragile adapter part.

Great car flashlight - very useful and always at hand!
Love this product! I was so glad I found it on Amazon, as my original one died after quite a few years of use.

Bright
Nice product and bright light. One issue is for some reason it get stuck in the lighter port of my Lincoln and I have to use pliers to get it out. Not sure its the fault of the light or the. Car. Will have try it in another car.

Great idea; poor execution
I tried the spotlight in the 12-V outlets of two vehicles -- 2008 Prius and 2008 Honda CRV. Same problem with both; namely, the plastic adapter is required, but it's a poor design. Specifically, the problem is that the conducting nub on the end of the adapter (that allows it to make contact with the center contact "hole" of the 12-V receptacle) does not make good contact with the butt end of the spotlight. There's nothing to force good contact, so any jostling will cause contact to be lost, preventing charging of the device. If you push the spotlight firmly into the receptacle, it will glow red, indicating it's charging. But that's easily stopped if the spotlight moves at all in the receptacle. If manufacturer had build the adapter so that there was some kind of spring forcing good contact between adapter and butt end of the spotlight's native housing, this wouldn't be a problem. So, in summary: It's really a great little light, but a poor charging design.
