Instructions: Please have available before you start: Our Premium Bottle Cutter; Safety Goggles (or sunglasses or eye protectors); 1- Adjust screws and move parts so the bottle can rest properly on machine; 2- Adjust depth of machine so the cutting wheel is at the desired location on the bottle; 3- Once the bottle is resting on the machine, apply pressure with your hands; make ONE complete circle only against the cutting wheel; 4- Take the bottle off the machine, light a candle and heat up the score mark on the bottle (some people also like to use hot and cold water - try it if you like). Once the whole etching mark is sufficiently hot, immediately rub the score with an ice cube; 5- Using both hands, snap the 2 parts of the bottle and use a sanding paper to smooth out the glass edges. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes. CAUTION: YOU ARE WORKING WITH GLASS, USE EXTREME CARE WHEN HANDLING!! Scoring the glass creates a weak point. The heat expands the area and the cooling causes a the separation.

The glass cutter is what I expected, it's a good tool for scoring glass bottles. "Fatients is a virtue" from scoring the glass to the breakage.

Not sure this is going to work
I read another review and it said to search YouTube for help with this. I'm going to, because so far, I'm not certain that I was to play with cutting glass with this. easy to assemble but difficult to adjust accurately, cutter handle fell apart, did not even get to use it once, sent it back...

Need patience and practice.
Well, it takes a bit of time to get to get good cuts with this, but like any craft or anything really, it just takes learning and practice. I've gotten a few nice drinking glasses made from wine bottle with this, and when I get better I have plans for other things as well. The trick is patience. It is a simple concept, score around a bottle, then expose it to extreme heat and cold causing it to crack the rest of the way thru. You also have a tapper to use in case the bottle doesn't crack thru. But, you are breaking glass so I would recommend a pair of safety goggles at least. It is easy, just follow the directions, have patience and don't be afraid. I'm a bit cautious about breaking glass..it is usually something I avoid, so I was a bit nervous and didn't apply the correct pressure when cutting that I ended up having a lot of tapping to do to get it to crack thru. Whatever you do, practice. I for a box of wine bottles free and I'm learning on them.
