Directed by Academy Award® winner° Steven Spielberg, Jaws set the standard for edge-of-your-seat suspense, quickly becoming a cultural phenomenon and forever changing the movie industry. When the seaside community of Amity finds itself under attack by a dangerous great white shark, the town’s chief of police (Roy Scheider), a young marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a grizzled shark hunter (Robert Shaw) embark on a desperate quest to destroy the beast before it strikes again. Featuring an unforgettable score that evokes pure terror, Jaws remains one of the most influential and gripping adventures in motion picture history. Special Features The Making Of Jaws The Shark Is Still Working: The Impact & Legacy Of Jaws: The RestorationDeleted Scenes And Outtakes From The Set Original Theatrical Trailer Review: 4k Teeth Marks - is a 1975 American thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg, based on the 1974 novel by Peter Benchley. It stars Roy Scheider as police chief Martin Brody, who, with the help of a marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a professional shark hunter (Robert Shaw), hunts a man-eating great white shark that attacks beachgoers at a summer resort town. Murray Hamilton plays the mayor, and Lorraine Gary portrays Brody's wife. The screenplay is credited to Benchley, who wrote the first drafts, and actor-writer Carl Gottlieb, who rewrote the script during principal photography. Shot mostly on location at Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts, Jaws was the first major motion picture to be shot on the ocean and consequently had a troubled production, going over budget and schedule. As the art department's mechanical sharks often malfunctioned, Spielberg decided to mostly suggest the shark's presence, employing an ominous and minimalist theme created by composer John Williams to indicate its impending appearances. Spielberg and others have compared this suggestive approach to that of director Alfred Hitchcock. Universal Pictures' release of the film to over 450 screens was an exceptionally wide release for a major studio picture at the time, and it was accompanied by an extensive marketing campaign that heavily emphasized television spots and tie-in merchandise. Regarded as a watershed moment in motion picture history, Jaws was the prototypical summer blockbuster, and won several awards for its music and editing. It was the highest-grossing film of all time until the release of Star Wars two years later; both films were pivotal in establishing the modern Hollywood business model, which pursues high box-office returns from action and adventure films with simple high-concept premises, released during the summer in thousands of theaters and advertised heavily. Jaws was followed by three sequels (none of which involved Spielberg or Benchley) and many imitative thrillers. In 2001, the Library of Congress selected it for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. The 4k transfer is brilliant and watched with a proper sound system really adds to the experience. As for the film the first of many Blockbuster from Spielberg and started what would become the Summer season of big films. Review: Outstanding 4K. - Theres nothing to be said about the movie that you haven't read before. Its JAWS, if you love it already for what it is but you only saw it on dvd or television or on the regular bluray release, then trust me , get this 4K release. Its a awesome as most reviewers out there claim it is. This 4k restoration makes every other version outdated and its like we are watching the movie for the first time. This may even be my favorite Spielberg movie ever, because just watching this new 4k edition is just a fascinating experience. And by the way, the extras in this disk are fantastic. Mostly taken from earlier releases but they are the perfect companion to this 4k and make this disk the ultimate must have choice for all Jaws fans. Just get it.

Awkward Layout
The quality is fantastic. A must for any Jaws fans. I gave it four stars opposed to five purely because the layout is not user friendly. Going from the film, extras, settings etc.

Masterpiece
Haven’t seen this in more than 20 years. I had forgotten just how good it is. Blue Ray is excellent.

Great picture and even better audio on 4K.
Having seen Jaws on Blu Ray I honestly didn't think the quality could get any better. The picture and sound on the Blu Ray were both amazing. As such I was skeptical about upgrading to 4K but eventually caved and brought a copy. I can say honestly I'm glad I did. The picture quality on 4K is grainy in places but it is made up for by the restoration of the picture and how the colours seem so much brighter. The Dolby Atmos sound was what really did it for me. Jaws has never sounded as good. With surround sound or soundbar it will blow your mind. The Blu Ray is a great upscale to this classic but if you don't mind spending the money then the 4K version is definitely one to add to the collection

Excellent
Great transfer and audio mix. The best version that I’ve owned, up to the present time. So, that’s been a purchase of this film on every format since it was put on general release. I’ve greatly contributed to Jaws, The investment and retirement plan. I await with bated breath next years’ all new, next generation, real life superimposed great white shark in your living room version. Until then, this beach stays open.

The transfer from 35mm film to 4K disc is amazing! So is the Dolby Atmos soundtrack

Merci :-)
