Permanent Fix for HDMI Audio Control Issue on Sony Bravia
After literally years of frustration with HDMI audio control of my Sony Bravia TV and Sony HTG700 soundbar and Amazon Firestick where the system would insist on reverting back to the TV’s internal speakers regardless of the settings on any of the devices, this adapter totally resolved the issue. I simply plugged it into the 4K HDMI jack on the TV and plugged my Firestick (or other device such as Apple TV module or a gaming system) into it and, Voila! It transparently works as it should, directing the sound format through the Sound Bar without hesitation, glitch or warning on the screen. And it allows me to use all the advanced audio features of the sound bar and TV.

Works perfectly with the MiSTer FPGA
My MiSTer completey broke the CEC on my TV when plugged in. Channels renamed themselves, my sound bar literally wouldn't work at all.. it was bedlam until I figured out the MiSTer was the cause. Sure I could unplug the thing every single time I was done using it or if I wanted the change the channel, but why? This plug solved literally all my problems and now I don't have to constantly be putting stress on HDMI ports. Maybe a little pricey, but I literally couldn't find anything else that advertised itself as an HDMI CEC stripper (no clue why this is so rare), so it was this or nothing. I guess regardless of the price it worked exactly as described. I'd absolutely buy another if I needed to.

Solved my CEC issues
Absolutely should be cheaper, but it did solve my problem of my HTPC interfering with the CEC control between my TV and Receiver. It worked just fine with the HTPC disconnected, and failed to discover each other once the HTPC was connected. Once I plugged in the HTPC through this adapter, everything worked perfectly.

Lifesaver for flaky CEC!
I have a system with 3 sources (Tivo, Roku, DVD player) switched by an Onkyo AV receiver, which in turn sends its output to a 70” Samsung TV. for months I’ve tried to turn on the tv and have it activate the receiver, and it seemed itched to whatever input I was last using. When I turned off the tv, it turned off the receiver, which then turned back on again. After reading dozens of forums, how-to’s and articles, all I learned was that Samsung’s implementation of CEC is somewhat flaky, that Onkyo uniquely uses different signals for on and off, and that both sometimes lose their minds (receiver would turn off with the tv, the turn itself back on 30 seconds later; turning off the DVD player made the tv switch to the empty “tv” input, which I could only change by re-learning Samsung’s world-class-awful remote). But in time I learned a critical lesson: input sources that NEVER TURN OFF can fool CEC circuits (mine anyway) into thinking a whole new input source has just been activated, and they try to switch to that source, with the results noted above. Both Tivo and Roku units never turn off, and neither has a power switch. They only turn off if you unplug their power supplies, or smash them with a brick. So they have a constant “live” signal, if it’s only a screensaver, and don’t respond to CEC commands. This little doodad was the fix. After placing one in each HDMI line from the always-on devices to the receiver, the tv and receiver started playing footsie only with each other, turning on and off in near-lockstep while the Tivo and Roku play on!

You had one job
The unit I received did NOT block CEC signals. Visually inspecting the adapter showed pin 13 intact instead of disconnected or masked. The packaging clearly indicicated that the adapter I received was intended to block pin 13 as well, so I clearly received the correct item. That being said, the adapter don’t interfere with a 4K HDR signal, so it is using high quality wiring internally.

Perfect to block HDMI Control signal
I just bought a brand new Sony A90J and a Sony HTA 7000 soundbar.. I spent hours on the phone with Sony because the soundbar wasn't playing the sound and i was getting messages telling me it was unavailable..Sony eventually told me that my cable box had a setting which was controlling all of my peripheral devices - specifically not allowing the sound to come through my soundbar. Then I spent a few more hours on the phone with my cable provider.... and then eventually had to wait for a technician to come to my house. . All the while I was googling, looking for help and someone mentioned getting one of these adapters to block the HDMI controller in the cable box. This works perfectly!! I also thought, after reading what the H DMI controller does, that I wouldn't be able to use my remote on all of my devices but that turns out not to be true.. This is an absolute life saver if you have the problem I had!! I won't get back the time I spent trying to resolve this but i am so haopy with this purchase and I hope this review helps someone...

It worked for me!
I got a new TV (Sony XR-55X90J). It has the theoretical ability to control all your devices with its remote. It was not working well with my cable box (Arris DCX3600M, Spectrum Cable provider). The cable box plugs into TV via HDMI interface. Simple enough. After some research I found that the cable box has been know to interfere with HDMI CEC [Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) is a feature of HDMI designed to allow users to command and control devices connected through HDMI by using only one remote control]. The research also indicated that a way to mitigate the interference is to turn off CEC for that device. It turns out that pin 13 of HDMI cables carries CEC signal. The Lindy HDMI CEC Less Adapter does just that. It eliminates the CEC signal. It works well. I have only minor CEC related issues now. I can attribute that to the TV as it is a brand new model and apparently still working out the problems.I had also tried the BlueRigger 4K HDMI CEC Less Adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BFL8TM8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). This one did not work for me.
