Fantastic protein treatment and heat protector spray, good deal overall!
I have tried (and currently use) a ton of different Moroccan Oil products. I’m hooked on the fragrance and how effective the brand is at controlling my frizz. With this set, you’re essentially getting a free small Moroccan Oil original treatment and the travel bag when you buy the mask and spray. A good deal, considering their website never really offers freebies with orders anymore.Protect and Prevent Spray: This is a great product for everyday use. With wet hair, I apply a serum from a different company and then spray this product on the ends before I heat style. It is lightweight, and seems to have a little bit of a straightening effect on my hair. Makes it really shiny and soft and protects from UV rays.Restorative mask: A PROTEIN mask (read: not hydrating mask, you have to condition after using it) that repairs the bonds in damaged hair. It says in the directions to apply to towel dried hair, leave on for 5-7 minutes, then rinse and condition afterwards. I have pretty damaged bleached light brown hair, and I try to do one protein treatment and one hydration treatment per week. I had been using a different brand for my protein treatment but I will be switching to Moroccan Oil now because this one works great in combination with both their Smoothing and Hydrating Masks (I use both of them and like them both about equally). I have tried a lot of different masks, but MoroccanOil makes the best ones.Moroccan Oil original treatment: I use the MoroccanOil light version as the last step in my hair routine, after I’ve styled my hair. I put a dime sized amount in my palms and work it through my ends. I really feel like it helps with the damage at my ends, and smells fantastic. I will note that if you have light blonde or gray hair or highlights, or fine hair, the Light version is a better option due to the darker color and density of Original (the Original weighs my hair down a bit too much). The travel bag: a lot cuter than in pictures, and bigger. This will be great for taking my hair products that don’t leak on vacation with me (not waterproof).Overall this is a great purchase for someone with damaged hair. I feel like the company isn’t making their fragrance as strong in their products as they were, which I actually appreciate. I have a coworker who can’t stand the smell of their products and if it’s not as strong she doesn’t make any comments. I personally love the smell (and most people I know do). 😍

Dreaming of Repair set products add softness and shine, but also leave hair feeling heavier
This Moroccanoil Dreaming of Repair makes for a great gift or introduction to some of the products in their Repair line. It contains two full size products and one mini product in a patterned (turquoise brushstroke-like swirls on a white background) cloth zipped bag.The Restorative hair mask is a full size product. It's super emollient and definitely helps restore some softness to dry or damaged hair. It comes in a tub where you have to use clean fingers to scoop out the product. The texture is like a very thick conditioner. Using it is kinda fussy since you have to towel-dry hair, work the product in, leave it for 5 to 7 minutes, then rinse out, but it does work. It does leave my hair feeling more heavy, though. I think I prefer Moroccanoil's Restorative Weightless Hydrating mask, which feels more lightweight but has the same benefits. The Protect and Prevent spray is also a full size product. It's meant for conditioning and protecting color-treated hair. It's good for smoothing and detangling hair, like a leave-in conditioner, but it also added a feeling of weight after I spritzed it 2-3 times. The Moroccanoil treatment is a mini size. This is their signature/original product. It's mostly silicones rather than argan oil, so while it can work okay in the short term, it's a superficial treatment. The scent for all of them are variations on the typical Moroccanoil scent, which is very musky and rich. I'm not a huge fan of scents, but they've been growing on me.Overall, the Dreaming of Repair set's products will produce some good results for hair that needs some protection, but I'm not sure I would reorder any of them because they all add some weight. I prefer their Hydration and Extra Volume products and the lightweight variations on their hair treatment and hair mask.
