This is one of my favorite things. It's got 3 USB3.0 ports that link and work properly, a nice aluminum chassis, and 1Gb ethernet! Great if you have a laptop with a 100Mb connection but a USB 3.0 port, or if you'd like to turn a laptop (or even phone!) into a router - that's right, this is Android compatible, I've used it with tablets to make portable configuration of devices a breeze! Would almost prefer it be native USB-C with a standard USB adapter to make it a little more streamlined for mobile, but it's good.

Ive been using this for a few weeks with my laptop. It works fine but the adapter part gets really hot. Im not sure if that is normal or not.

The media could not be loaded. Update:I tested this adapter on my Asus gaming laptop and the speed results were identical to that of the built-in Ethernet port. I reached 936 Mbps on both ports. This adapter is only limited by the performance of your device or the speed of your ISP.I accidentally bought a laptop without an Ethernet port, though my work sometimes require the use of one. It was a good deal on the laptop btw.Rather than search for another laptop and get disappointed with mostly chrome book results, I decided to purchase a USB to Ethernet adapter.This was the cheapest unit with fast delivery, but it also boasted a few bonuses, such as a usb c adapter and a 3 port usb hub.The unit arrived on time as promised, and is completely plug and play right out of the box. Now I didn’t buy it for the hub, and therefore don’t really care how it performs, so if you want details on that, I’m sure someone else has left a review on it.I did a speed test using the adapter, connected via usb c, and had a high of 848 Mbps, and a low of just under 700 Mbps. Considering these ports has a max rating of 1,000 Mbps, and I’ve never achieved more than 930 Mbps on any of my computer/ laptop devices, I’d say that’s a pretty good test.I haven’t tried it on a PC that has an Ethernet port to see if there’s a noticeable difference, but I’ll do so later and update with the results.

The ethernet port on it works and overall everything on it seems to be working it's been about a month

I needed an adapter that would allow me to connect a wired Ethernet cable to my laptop so I would have a higher speed connection compared to Wi-Fi for a video podcast I was a guest on. I also needed more usb ports to power the LED lights for the video. This worked great. It gave me the full bandwidth of my Xfinity Gb service compared to half that through Wi-Fi.
