Inaccurate product title, but useful little kitchen knife
The product title states 'MasterClass Paring Knife, Tipless Self-Sharpening Paring Knife Small, 'This is misleading. Mine did not come with a blade sharpening sheath like some other Masterclass knives. Therefore there's no way it can be 'self sharpening'.It is a useful knife though, that doesn't have a dangerously sharp tip, which was what I was looking for.

it is very sharp, which obviously speeds up the process.
The media could not be loaded. This is a beautiful knife as you can see, Ida from my pictures and videos or from the sellar pictures. However as we all know a beautiful knife if it's not enough to make a good knife. For a knife to be good, it needs to perform perfect for the condition it is submitted. As for this knife, it is mostly to be used in the kitchen setting, therefore it needs to perform best when cutting, it also needs to perform best on durability and also, it needs to be easy to control or manoeuvre. As my mum used to say, a good knife takes half of the job away, I've grown to believe that is true because, when I have to work with a bad knife everything seems to be harder, even a simple tomato can become a problem, especially when it needs to look good. This is a great knife, I mostly use this knife when I need to cut things on my hand instead of cutting boards.I like to do that because this knife is easy to manoeuvre, it is very small, and makes it perfect for peeling fruits and vegetables.it is very sharp, which obviously speeds up the process.Because it is made of stainless steel, it will not get rusted and thus allowing it to last a long time

Very sharp and nicely heavy
I tried this paring knife on ripe tomatoes. The results shown in my photos are what I achieved in 10 seconds using my old low quality knife (right) and the MasterClass knife (left). As you can see the pieces are much smaller with this knife because it is sharper and has a very good weight to it.Later I perfected using this but adjusting my cutting style to rock back and forth more slightly further down the blade instead of relying on the tip for slicing and then pushing down into the body of the blade, since this knife has no sharp tip.It also has a very solid, well formed handle which is a big plus point for me because I have had the handles of cheap knife literally tear apart in my hand when chopping in the past, causing an injury.I do think that I prefer a knife with a sharp tip for piercing in certain situations. However, as far as topless paring knives go, from my humble home cook perspective, this is a very nice one.I hope you find this helpful.

Decent knife, marred by lack of a point
Good quality. Sharp and seems to hold an edge. Lacks a pointed tip, which is a nuisance.

Arrived almost blunt.
Its too blunt to do the jobs i need it to like peeling vegetables without hacking chunks off with the skin. Im really annoyed as its too short to go in my electric knife sharpener. I should have sent it back really. Pity as it is otherwise well made.

Durable and safe option for every day knife
The knife is pretty small but this makes it ideal for pealing vegetables. You won't be using more than the point of contact between the two and the blade being on the small side makes it easier to handle. The rounded tip makes it safer to use and at the same time still cuts through if you need to use it to dig out bad bits / seeds etc. The handle is a good size, safe to hold and handle with the ergonomic design and its not slippery when your hands are wet. The joining of the blade with the handle is important to me because I don't like those knives where the handle just goes over the blade. Just find that less hygenic because they can be difficult to wash them very well. With this, its all one big thing and you can easily wash it all. Its very sharp as well and the blade is quite thick to cut through harder vegetables as well so win-win.
