Night of the Living Dead: Darkest Dawn

SHORT BUT DECENT
People complained that this animated movie was like a video game. The Quality was but it was an entertaining different version of the original. Takes place in a big city in an apartment building. The movie is just a little over an hour long. People die differently than the original which made it like a new version. If you like zombie films and don't mind animated type films. I would definitely recommend it one. Not dull at all and plenty of action. Similar to original but different

Rent. Don't buy.
Well, coulda been better.I had high hopes for this when I first read that it was being made on IMDB. Tony Todd, Danielle Harris, Joe Pilato...After finally watching it, I should have rented it instead. So many missed opportunities. The actors did fine for what they were given, but the writing was a waste. Hardly any gore or nastiness that one would hope for while watching a zombie movie. They seemed to even go cheap on the animation. At times, the characters have no facial features, and they seemed to blur out their mouths while speaking -perhaps so they wouldn't have to pay for the mouth animations. If you absolutely have to see this, please rent it.Then, go and play a few rounds of Left 4 Dead. The animation is better, and the story is played out with more style.

Decently done
It was a pretty good movie. The animation resembles a video game. And like all of the Night of the Living Deads...spoilers.

THIS IS A CARTOON!
BEWARE: ANIMATED MOVIE. Like one reviewer said, I wish I had read the reviews before renting. Thank goodness I didn't buy it. Not a great piece of work, but when I saw Tony Todd and Joe Pilato, I thought that this might be a decent enough reboot of the remake. NOPE!

A New Retelling
Movie Critics were lukewarm with their reviews. But I rather enjoyed this new take on a classic. While not a masterpiece, it's also certainly not terrible either. Yet another remake on George Romero's classic legendary 1968 film.Darkest Dawn changes it up. Instead of live action it goes for 2000's style video game Computer animation, instead of the being set in countryside it's backdrop is deep in the city. The horror actors alumni are assembled here Tony Todd(Candyman, Wishmaster)reprises his roll of Ben(A character he first played in the 1990 remake) Joesph Pilato(from George Romero's 1978's Dawn of the Dead & 1985's Day of the Dead) plays Harry Cooper, a kinder take on the character. Danielle Harris of the Halloween & Hatchett film franchises fame plays Barbara a young woman who while visiting a lonely city cemetery on a cool late fall evening, discovers that a nightmare as begun.Bill Moseley(Night of the Living Dead 1990 remake, 2008's Dead Air) stars as the voice of Barbara's brother Johnny. There's no special features on this factory on demand DVD release.
