Good value, good quality paper.
A good quality paper for small, quick work - I like the texture of the paper, its sturdiness and the way the color lays on it. Nice size to tuck into a small daypack for traveling. Decent price too.

Amazing product!
I love how convenient this product is. The 5x7 size is ideal for framing as well. It's just so easy. Just open the bag, take one sheet out, and you're ready to paint. This was the first hot-pressed watercolor paper I ever tried and I was very impressed with the quality. The colors look beautiful on it. It does not warp very heavily. It works great for glazing and it's decent at lifting. I love this. I would highly recommend for small, finished artwork.

Great paper.
I generally use Arches hot press, but bought this thinking I was buying hot press. Although it is not hot press, I actually prefer it to Arches cold press. I am not a watercolorist, per se. I use watercolor in conjunction with ink and gouache, typically. That being said, Strathmore 500 series products are great. 100 percent cotton makes a BIG difference in the way the support accepts paint. This is great stuff for ink, watercolor and gouache. However, a traditional watercolor artist might prefer Arches for the way it handles paint and water. I don't think the Strathmore product is mold made, and that apparently makes a difference.

Great for beginner
I enjoy working with this paper. Warps worse that Arches...but not bad for a beginner.

Probably Good For Practice
Maybe I got a bad batch but I bought this to try the Strathmore cotton to see if I could save any money over more expensive cotton paper but this really isn't an option. I guess it could be 100% cotton but I'm not getting any uniform pigment flow like you should with cotton. It may be a lack of gelatin sizing? It's acting like low cost wood pulp paper with pigment getting stuck in the texture, not blending and dries in a bit of a lifeless matte finish.

Itโs decent quality
I like to do graphitint, water soluble graphite, and watercolor studies. The paper hold up well to it for the most part. One of two complaints I have are once when I worked an area a little to much, being an amateur I did not notice I dipped a watercolor pencil in water to draw directly on the paper, and I flattened and indented the paper. You can see it in the ducks wing. Like I said this is because Iโm an still learning and even the best papers have limits. Itโs also not the best textured cold pressed and wish it was a little coarser. I will use it again because itโs affordable and I do like that itโs ready cut for framing.

Quality gone down hill
The first time I bought this paper, it was pretty decent, especially given the cost. I paint 5x7 paintings for family members, then make a card from a print of the painting and package their actual painting as a gift. (I started doing this during covid) The thought of cutting down my larger Arches and Hahnemuhle paper down just to paint 5x7's seemed wasteful, besides it was nice to pull out a sheet and go. Great concept. I even liked it enough to buy a second package. It's like suddenly I am unable to paint wet on wet. I get cauliflower and pilling. One layer and the paper looks "overworked". Tonight I pulled out some scrap Arches and did some wet on wet samples. No pilling, no cauliflower.I have become really disappointed with this paper. It'll be color testing paper, or maybe I'll be able to use it for ink applications.I don't even think it's valuable for practice, because it does nothing positive.

Wonderful Watercolor Paper
If youโre looking for affordable, 100% cotton watercolour paper, this paper is perfect. It holds a decent amt of water. My only suggestion is to have the paper more textured. But overall, this is my go-to paper.
