Easier to install than I expected.
I was a little bit concerned about DIY installation. My 20 year old SeaStar (not Xtreme) NFB had developed 30 degrees of slop. The new system has <5 degrees of slop. Xtreme is superior and easily controls the 90 hp with one hand on the wheel. Everything needed was included, and was a direct replacement for the old system: No new holes.

Great job sea star
I was very impressed with the ease of installation in my Commodore 265. It comes with great instructions and everything laid out perfectly. Very good product from a very well thought out engineering staff.Update. Took the vessel out for a run today and the new steering is awesome! This is a great product!

Good fit and easy installation
It fit very well. The length was correct. And I had drill a couple holes for the replacement helm hardware. The instructions were clear and concise and everything fit together as expected.It took me about an hour and a half to install.

Easy replacement for the mechanically inclined.
Our new pontoon flipped in a storm so the original Sea Star steering gear got loaded with sand. Replacement went well, it took me three hours.

Damaged produce, don’t know who to contact for help
The cable would not fully come through the helm. After spending an hour installing, the cable is catching on something in the helm. I cannot figure out who to contact for help, I will likely be pulling this out and returning it.

Benefit over rack is steering "locks" when not turning helm/wheel,so makes cruising more relaxing.Docking is worse as have to overcome resistance of clutch mechanism for every steering input.
