Great grow from these!
The media could not be loaded. I purchased a hydrogarden set up and threw these in once I added water! They grew pretty fast and the genovese and thai basil truly took on a life of their own. I had so much I was giving it away to friends and family, some of them planting it in their own gardens as well! Once they get that big they got pretty demanding for water understandably. About .5-1 liter of water a day! Once they're this big you wont want to go away for more than two days without having someone stop by to refill! The genovese basil also grew the biggest leaves I've seen yet, nearly the size of my hand. Overall, I would purchase again or for a friend.

Don't Buy! Worthless Product & Falsely Advertised!!
Do not buy this! You may think to yourself This is a cute little set for starting a garden. It's all right there in place and all I have to do is plant a little pods and give it the little plant food it provides and I'm going to soon have my own garden. This is how they advertise it.NOT EVEN CLOSE.They will send you these little 2" plastic spikes that you were supposed to plant. These plastic spikes are extraordinarily poorly made. Plus, they're plastic. They are not biodegradable so your plants are stuck in these itsy bitsy pencil-wide planters which means they will die. Plus you're literally putting massive amounts of plastic in your garden on purpose so that should be pretty self-explanatory. Because of how the little things are made you can't wait until the plants sprout and then try to transfer them. They are stuck in there forever. They also didn't package these very well. They throw in loose soil. Not compacted soil that will expand once watered. Loose soil. Yes those are open pieces of plastic with slits in the side and an open top that they throw loose soil in and then throw in a box. Yes you read that correctly. So of course the soil isn't going to actually be in the planters when you receive them. You're just going to get a box of splattered dirt and who knows if there's actually a seed in there because you can't find anything. Nothing is wrapped up or contained it's just literally thrown in there. So now you have no dirt, probably no seeds, itty bitty plastic containers that will kill your plants and that are not biodegradable, but wait we're not done!!On the listing they say that you can use it with your indoor or outdoor garden. However once you receive the product you were told that you can only use it with their $400 brand name indoor grower or they won't sprout. Yup...So there you have it. They gave you a dollar worth of broken plastic, a half a cup of tossed soil, liquid plant food that will probably drain out before the plants can actually eat them, and not a single seed to be seen. This probably cost them about $2 to throw in a box and they are charging you that much for it.This is NOT what they advertise. This is not something where you can start in the pods and it's easy gardening. It is an absolute scam of cheap material thrown in a box and they way way over charge you. There are plenty of other options out there and I suggest going with biodegradable planters or those little mini indoor greenhouses with the expandable dirt or any of those options because I have used them all and they are lovely. But this one is a PoS with cheap plastic that is not even worth a penny. The box it came in is worth at least 10 times the product.Do not buy. Nobody on the planet should buy this ever. I cannot stress this enough. Of the hundreds upon hundreds of items I have purchased from Amazon I'm pretty sure that this is either the top set of items from this brand or possibly the second top that would ever recommend nobody buying. That's how bad it is.I can only hope I have saved some other people their hard-earned money and time and frustration with this review.

good quality=good value
not great quality. after several years of using these kits and this was the first time some seeds never took an the overall yield was less than in the past... None the less, we start a new 'garden' right after the holidays....

Growing Pains: A Disappointing Experience with the AeroGarden Gourmet Herb Seed Pod Kit
I've been an enthusiastic user of the AeroGarden system for nearly a year, regularly updating my herb selection as they outgrow the device. The system usually supports growth from all six pods, albeit at varying rates, ensuring that each plant emerges eventually. However, my latest experience with the Gourmet Herb Seed Pod Kit was disappointing due to packaging and product quality issues.Upon receiving the kit, which appeared to be sealed, I noticed that the stickers on top of the pods were loose, and some were even detached. This was a concerning first sign. True enough, four out of the six pods failed to produce any plants within the expected timeframe of nearly three weeks. This was a significant letdown, especially considering the system's previously reliable performance.Given the lack of growth, I resorted to using my own seeds, which sprouted successfully within a week. This situation leads me to question the quality control processes involved in the production of these pods. It's crucial that such issues are addressed and rectified to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain the integrity of the product. In conclusion, while the AeroGarden typically offers a convenient and effective solution for growing herbs indoors, this particular experience with the Gourmet Herb Seed Pod Kit was unsatisfactory due to potential quality control issues. It's essential for the company to conduct thorough checks before dispatching their products to prevent similar experiences for other customers.

Great product
I purchased this as replacement plants since the ones that came with the AeroGarden had finished their life cycle.I'm glad it came with the plant food and the variety of herbs is perfect as I use them often. It's easy to plant them in the AeroGarden and it doesn't take long before you start to see little sprouts and have a thriving little herb garden.

1/3 ofMy seed pods did not germinate
1/3 of my aerogarden seed pods did not germinate. The pods come pre seeded and are placed within the aerogarden device for germination. Of the 6 pack of seed pods only 4 germinated. Amazon states I can return the item however as the pods are placed within the growing device all that is left of the 2 dysfunctional pods is a pile of soggy dirt. No way to get the 2 defective pods replaced (thyme and parsley)

Two of the pods were duds
I placed all pods into my grower at the same time and they’re all flourishing but two of them never sprout…

Enjoy access to fresh herbs!
I like AreoGardens and the seed pod kits normally work well. This herb kit had a current expiry date and it am anticipating lots of fresh herbs. However, the accompanying Fresh Tea kit that came with my order had expired over a year ago. Need to check these dates if you want most of the seeds to germinate.

^^^Updated review
My box had all the wrong seeds in it. It had 2 of one type and a other pod was totally unmarked so I had no idea what was going to grow and I was missing parsley and mint! The two I use most! Returned for exchange. That was high annoying. I was ready to plant and couldn't. ***Update: Thank you I received my replacement pods and this time they are exactly right I've planted them and look forward to my herbs growing.

Ok.. Wouldn't order again
One big problem was that my parsley pod never sprouted (while side by side the basil and mint grew like crazy). Eventually I just threw it out. Another issue that made me sad was the Italian basil turned out to be mislabelled - it was Thai basil which I am not a fan of. Waited a couple of weeks for the plant to mature and ended up with a herb I probably won't use. Fingers crossed when I go to plant what is meant to be Thai basil based on its label it will turn out to be Italian!

Huge Disappointment!
I will preface this review by first stating how much I absolutely love my two aero gardens. I have purchased the units for family and friends and have on many occasions sent along photos of my lovely herb and vegetable gardens in the middle of winter. For approximately ten years this continued, until six months ago. Since this time, the pods have been basically useless. On four occasions, I threw them out after several weeks, or discarded a portion of the six, and attempted to try another pod with the same negative results. I usually purchase my pod kits from Amazon, but, decided to also try other local retailers in case the lots I received from Amazon were old or had something else occurring. Anyway, the results continue the same. I consistently discard four or five from each kit of six. I am sending along a photo of my one month old garden. I will plant the dill outside and discard the mint and parsley as they are very spindly and brown. The lettuce never came up after four weeks. I am very experienced with planting and consistently keep the water full and provide nutrients as required. I have even tried distilled water with absolutely no positive effect.
