Fine starter for a 6.0
Swapped an LQ4 into a 2005 Tahoe with a 4L60. During the swap installed a new Remy 5.3 starter. Truck always started but never sounded confident. Installed this 6.0 starter and the engine starts 10x better. This starter is larger than an OE-sized 5.3 starter, but will fit and starts just fine. This is an 11-tooth starter where as the 5.3/OE starter is 9-tooth. However, they both work. This should work just fine in any half-ton GM Gen III LSx application as all would have a 168-tooth flexplate for a 4L60.

Works great for Vanagon with adaptor plate
This starter is a direct replacement for manual Vanagons with the starter adaptor plate. Order a tdi style starter plug as you will need it to connect but other than that it is low profile and bolts right on, with plenty of space to remove it. This is a NEW and not a rebuilt unit making it a good choice.

OEM Fit
This product is the OEM replacement. Easy to replace and keep going. Definitely worth the extra cost over the other branded products

Faulty bearing or no lubrication noise
Bought in June 2019, I use the vehicle very little and even less during the pandemic, so little that I use a battery charge maintainer to keep the battery in good shape. About 6 months ago started making a screeching noise at cold start. Is not a "starter gear meshing with the flywheel" kind of noise. More like a lack of lubrication or faulty bearing kind of noise that happens right after the engine has started and the starter motor gear has retracted but is still turning. Never the less, I checked the starter mounting bolts and are tight as per specification. I guess I'll have to remove the starter and disassemble it to assess the problem. Other than that, when purchased it looked like new and it still starts the engine with authority and shows no additional problems.

Fits and works perfectly!
Extended case on bolt side makes it much easier to install on a 5.7 Corvette. It does come with 1 long bolt, use other long bolt from old starter.

Original part at a fraction of the price - Best deal anywhere!
My car starter developed a random problem, sometimes when the key was turned, the starter spinned but the gear wasnโt engaging the flywheel, after several attempts the car started but I was worried that some day it would simply fail and leave me stranded. After several attempts to fix the problem like changing the starter solenoid and the steering column switch I decided to replace the entire starter. This definitely solved the problem and my car is cranking up right again the way it should.Bosch is an OEM provider for BMW so this is an original part and there is no need to go to the dealer to buy a "BMW" starter motor which also would be very expensive and you end with a bosch part in a bmw box. The original starter motor I removed from my car is a Bosch unit so no worries about replacing an original part with another of inferior quality. This is a remanufactured starter, that means, it is a factory rebuilt unit with all the internal parts renewed or replaced by Bosch and a full warranty and even a free roadside assistance service so even in the worst case you have a free towing complimentary service and after the rebate process that involves sending the old core unit in the box the new one came in with a free return fedex label you will get back about half the cost. So the final price is so low that this is a no brainer.I did the install, which involves raising the car and removing the exhaust pipe and tilt the transmission down a little to be able to access the torx starter bolts, it's not very easy but it's not a headache either, I did this in my garage and any respectable mechanic should be able to do this job in 2 hours or less. The new starter body is a little shorter than the old one but performs the same and the fitment is perfect. The old starter failed after 17 years of service, so I donโt expect to have issues with this again for the rest of the carโs life.If you're comparing prices and places, this is the best deal to replace the starter motor I could find anywhere, If you have problems with your BMW starter motor, fix them once and for all with this original part. Which is way cheaper, easier and definitely solves the problem and better than having the old starter repaired at any local shop with inferior quality and dependability.

SR0808N exact fit for 2005 997C2
Product pictures show a "Made in Hungary"label but the Bosch starter I received was made in China. It appears new as stated and not remanufactured. Came with nuts and lock washers for electrical connections. Save/reuse your original mounting bolts.Performance is very strong and start up is noticeably quicker than old unit.I am very pleased with this purchase.

1998 Ford f150 fit great- Save the little plastic cap over the solenoid connections
I've replaced a couple of starters before so I didn't expect this was going to be much different. Two of the bolts on the Ford are very difficult to get to and you will need a 6in extension with a 13 mm socket to pull the studs and bolts holding the starter in. One of the solenoid terminals is also a 13 mm socket and the other one on the switch was a 10 mm socket. I did watch a YouTube video where I watched a guy Express the need for extreme patience. I expected the replacement was not going to be simple, but I got it done in about an hour, start to finish. My one piece of advice is when you go to tighten the positive power lead to the solenoid, use your fingers and hold it away from the other electrical post for the switch. I tighten mine the first time and when I went to connect the battery, the starter was spinning because I had put the connector in at a point where it was touching the other nut. Once I loosen that and fixed it, problem solved and it starts right up. It was a perfect fit. We shall see how long that lasts. The starter I had was the original starter and my car is 23 years old.
