I read the reviews and decided to get this prior to bunionectomy. As others pointed out, it's important to walk slowly with the shoe out in front to avoid tripping. I did very well with this shoe and never felt pain walking in it. Once the dressing came off, I put a foam pad under the ball of foot to keep the pressure off the sesamoid bone and avoid pain. I used it for a month and it held up great. I highly recommend it.

I've been wearing this shoe on a daily basis for about six weeks. It's held up very well with no visible wear or damage. The shoe is very adjustable using the velcro straps. I like that the main strap over the foot can be completely removed and replaced so that a wide range of swelling can be addressed. The only negative is that the sole is a hard plastic. Great for low wear, but somewhat slippery on hard surfaces. Given my post-surgery walking speed, this isn't a big issue.

The description and image is misleading! This would be great if I wanted my leg to be angled out in front of me. When wearing this, standing with straight legs, this shoe is very uncomfortable. It felt as though my foot were on a see-saw, and all of the pressure was diffected specifically to the center of my foot! It appeared to be a large heel with the front half of the foot bot getting any pressure, but that is not how it fits at all.

It keeps the pressure down on the toe and ball area of my foot.Im prone to Gout,so this really helps revive the pain of walking. The only issue is getting the correct thickness shoe on the other foot as to not mess up my gate

Get the size recommended, Mine was a bit too big, should have gotten the next size down.

This is a great post-op show for bunionectomy. My doc had provided one that did not have the weird platform heel and that was less comfortable than this. This has a nice large Velcro strap for the front area and padding over the front of foot is long, wide, and nice. The bigger strap feels more sturdy around my foot. Picture is post 2 weeks. Heel fits in nicely and the ankle strap is conveniently long so you can adjust in many ways to wear it comfortably. The funny heel is what makes this nicer... I don’t u set stand the mechanics of why but when sitting upright, the heel gently helps your foot to angle so your toes don’t feel so heavy. It supports it at just the right angle so it doesn’t hurt as much. Also, for the little bit of walking, it gives more stable fitting than the flat footed style because it lightly helps rock the foot just slightly to make your walk less burden on the toes/big toe surgery. Just note that the platform is quite high so it’s good if your other foot has a shoe that is nice and stable with some Platform height so you don’t walk as wobbly... I’ve been wearing w sneakers w thick sole and it is comfortable and feels safe and protected. You might want to size a little-up... my regular shoe size ladies 6 so I ordered the XS. My toes end at the edge of this shoe... I haven’t had any issues but if you want a little more protection and coverage, a longer shoe could give you that peace of mind at the tips of toes. I have a friend who will be having a bunionectomy in a few months and I plan to recommend ordering this exact show for them. I have both the Flat style Darco brand shoe and this one. This one is my go-to for comfort!!! It is “heavier” but that doesn’t bother me because the few times I’m actually walking... it’s actually more comfortable than the flag style. The funny heel is genius.

I had surgery on my foot. The shoe came a day early and was exactly what i ordered. But i must say in my situation after two days of use i will not put it on again. I had a wire put in my little toe and titanium rod in my big toe and it didn’t work for me. It was extremely painful to use
