Pelican Elite Cooler Wire Basket

Purchased for the sole reason of storing things I wanted to remain dry in my cooler. First thing I noticed when I unboxed the basket is that it’s very sturdy. It dropped right into my 50 qt Pelican cooler and it serves its purpose well. My only gripe is that it’s probably a little overpriced.

Very functional basket and easy to just drop in. The size fits perfectly. Definitely helps keep items dry but still cold. I’ve had this for about 6 months and it still looks like new so I feel like it’s pretty durable.

Should have bought this when I bought the cooler, keeps all the food out of the ice and water. A must for camping!

People complain its expensive but I look at it this way...you get what you pay for. This baskets feels like its made in the USA and most USA stuff is more money and better quality than china. I've only had the basket for 2 months and have used it twice, it works great, fits in the cooler very nice and appears it will last a long time due to not flexing a lot and the coating over the metal.

Thick, Sturdy, ROBUST.... it's main frame/construction is 5mm thick with the few cross members being 3.5mm thick, all straight, no warps or crooked looking area. Great Quality, beefy, expensive too though (and I paid about forty three, backed a star off for cost. But at the temporary reduced price, I had to jump at the opportunity) Have yet to use it. Awaiting delivery of a Pelican 45 quart wheeled cooler. Will let you know if and how it works out....

i have a 70 qt pelican and this fits well. It seems durable and it does not hang up inside the cooler when you need to slide it in either direction. Thankfully I don't have much more to say because I have had no issues with this basket. That said, I haven't owned it for more than a month but I have used it every day since then.

Not sure why I didn't buy one of these sooner! I got tired of having to dig through the cooler to find what I needed, losing precious cold by having the lid open too long. This is exactly what I needed. I use it to keep anything I'll be needing soon/regularly on top, away from ice and water (sandwiches, condiments, etc.), while I fill the bottom with ice paks/ice and drinks. Note: the depth of it can make packing your cooler a bit of a Tetris-exercise sometimes (cans -- regular and tall boys -- fit OK, but sometimes you'll need to shuffle stuff around or slide the basket left or right a bit). It's a bit of money for a wire basket, but it's sturdy and fits perfect, so was willing to bite the bullet.

The Basket is a nice feature to the cooler. Well made with thick gauge wire. Made to last. Kept the produce off from the ice so it did not freeze. Also keeps food from getting saturated with water as the ice melts.

Tough as nails, good coating and a perfect fit as expected. It's not cheap but it's rock solid.

I initially balked at the price of this basket. Anyway you consider it, it is expensive for what it is (about 10% the cost of the cooler itself). However, it is very durable quality construction much better built than any freezer basket you get with a major appliance. And since it comes in models specific to the various cooler models/sizes, it fits perfectly. It is sufficiently deep enough to hold a number of items above the ice/water in the cooler that you don't want to saturate as the ice melts and does cover essentially the entire available area (length and width of the opening). After the first use I forgot my concerns about the cost and am certain it will certainly last the life of the cooler.

Got it for my 45QT wheeled cooler, pretty expensive but it does fit perfect and it's got nice thick bars.
