Good Product, Confusing Choices
When you query "cane with seat" you get several choices. The one I chose is identical to one described as "Tri Seat Adjustable Seat Cane." Unfortunately I can't figure out exactly what I clicked on. I ordered on Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday (today) from Wayfair, whom I didn't recall being involved in the order process. I checked my order on Amazon, which says it is Adjustable Folding Seat CaneSold by: Wayfair. The tag on the item says it is from Nova Ortho-Med (nothing about Alex Toys or Drive on the product or the invoice). It is Nova's product number 3091: Adjustable Folding Seat Cane. If you query under Nova 3091 you will get two pictures, one with a closed grip and the other curved. I think some of the reviews may have been muddled between them. In fact when I first wrote this review it posted to the wrong picture (closed grip), which I haven't been able to remedy, although the picture I'm looking at as I write is the open one. Bear that in mind and try to order the one you really want. Nova 3091 was made in China, so possibly Nova is just one of its US distributors. They do warrant the product, except for its non-durable components. Its weight capacity is stated as 225 pounds (not 250). Its seat is oval, with a generous 10" width, 8" back to front. The open, cane-like grip, good for hooking over an arm if you don't plan to use it as a rather awkward cane, is padded with a cushiony material I expect to be comfortable. The three legs adjust from 34 to 38 inches. The instructions are quite clear that you are to straddle the seat with the cane in front of you. The opened seat is a little over 18 inches off the ground at shortest height. This seemed low to me at first, but I was able to get back up easily. I imagine I will leave it at 34 so it will clear the pavement when I walk with it on my arm. It will still be functional as a cane at that length if I need it. I'm age 68, with osteoarthritis, 5'3" 180 lb. and 46" around the seat. I need all of that 10 inch diameter! It is a bit stiff to open out of the box, but everything about it seems as sturdy and functional as possible considering its light weight. I don't think I could handle anything heavier. I wish it could fold so I could pack it, but you can't have everything. I plan to take my new pal to Istanbul in October.

Sturdy seat and easy to use.
Very sturdy, I have taken it around the world with our travels. I added a shoulder strap to carry it. With the 3 legs it not good using it as a regular cane.

Not stable, caution if purchasing for older adult
Bought this as a travel aid for my mother. When it arrived it seemed very light and something she might use. Then I opened it up and tried sitting on it. Seat was very small, and legs were very wobbly. I checked to make sure they were locked into place correctly and they were. Between small seat and being unstable there was no way I could give it to an 80 year old woman to use. Be careful if you buy this. "Might" work for very small, light adult, but no way it even comes close to safely supporting 200 lbs.

Versatile cane/stool combo
Great little stool to take to places where there might be a line. The cane feature when folded gives me stability when walking. Really handy and lightweight

Mom says it comes in handy anytime when she needs to sit
My mom is about 150 lbs and occasionally gets tired walking or standing up. According to her this seat is a little bit unstable but serves its purpose especially on long walks where seating is not available. I thought this is something to be expected because it only has 3 legs. Well, frankly speaking the design is ingenious and a lifesaver for someone who needs both a cane and a chair. I've tried this myself and I think it works great. I'm 5'4, 108 lbs and don't have mobility or balance issues. I'm pretty young so I don't know how using this is like to someone who is 90 years old. I suggest to practice using this at home with something you can hold on to before venturing with it. Take extra precautions when getting up as you can take a tumble if you're unable to balance yourself (or if you hold on to the cane). And yes, you sit with this with the cane facing you to keep you balanced. What I like most about this is that it has adjustable legs. Some items out there don't have these. Just buy it -- It will come handy to your family members who need it. It's also pretty light, easy to use, portable and does not take too much space in the trunk.

Quality of life -- enhanced
First, Amazon and Tiger (Mary Jo-Costa Rica) representatives did an exceptional job in finding this product and then delivering it in time for a taxing event that I otherwise could not have attended. This folding seat cane got me through hours of walking - sometimes through beach sand - and hours of sitting. It is strong, versatile, light weight, adjustable and attractive. I am 80 years old and this product, without a doubt, was the most effective that I have ever purchased ---- and the price was right. My gratitude to Tiger, Nova Ortho and Amazon for helping to improve the quality of my life with this fine product.Carl N.

Exactly what we needed.
I bought this cane/seat for my wife who was recently diagnosed with sciatica and arthritis. She has trouble standing for any length of time. We bought this specifically to attend the Cannes, France, International Film Festival because we knew we would be in long lines. It was invaluable! So many people told my wife they wished they had one like it. She was the only person out of thousands who had one. It is light, doesn't take up much room and is useful as a cane sometimes, particularly going down steps. We packed it in a large suitcase, because we didn't want it confiscated by TSA personnel at the International airports. We probably could have obtained specific permission. We have since used it on a trip to Washington, DC., by coach. Again, it was extremely useful, although to say it was a life-saver would be stretching it. Well worth the money. BTW, I scrolled through many similar cane/seats before choosing this one. I'm sure I made the right choice.

Clumsy.
Not a good product. It is clumsy. No real support. I couldn’t sit on it without losing my balance.Do not spend money on it. I returned it.
