The roots of pantofola d'oro go back to 1886, when it started as a small enterprise producing football shoes for italian athletes in southern italian ascoli piceno. The name of the label was inspired by the footballer john charles, who played for juventus turin and, because of their perfect fit, named the shoe the "golden slippers". Since then, many of the greatest footballers in the world favour the fine sports shoes of the italian brand: from fabio capello to jurgen klinsmann and marco van basten. Der Sneaker ist optisch sehr gelungen. Die Passform gut, wobei er eher schmal geschnitten ist. Die Sohle erscheint mir recht hart und auch das Obermaterial ist recht steif.
