Excellent bulbs! Non-tech savvy people beware!
The media could not be loaded. At £18 for two bulbs at this spec and price, these RGB smart bulbs can not be beat. I need to say that before anything else. Now the difficult bit. These bulbs can be a nightmare to not only set up but to stay operational (connected to your network) once set up.Firstly these bulbs hate 5ghz wireless bands, so you'll need to access your router's set up via a browser and change it to 2.4ghz when trying to pair these to your network. You can switch it back to dual band afterwards and you shouldn't have any issues.Another issue you might have is DHCP automatically assigning IP addresses to your devices which can unfortunately knock a lot of these smart home devices off the network with the need to try and pair them up again. Assigning static IP addresses for your devices may solve this issue. If you have a recent router with the ability to create separate wireless networks then I suggest you do just that. Set up a guest wireless network with no access to devices on your main wireless network, be sure to set the guest band to 2.4ghz and the main network band to 2.4ghz/5ghz.Pair your devices to your guest 2.4ghz wireless network (call the SSID "Smart Home" or something). You'll need to be connected to that same guest network on your phone while pairing your devices. Don't worry, you can connect your phone back to your main network once completed. These bulbs would've easily scored full stars if it hadn't been for the additional work involved in setting them up and ensuring they remain set up.If you understood what I said above then buy the bulbs, you won't be disappointed. If anything I said sounded like an alien language then maybe get a tech friend to help you.Once properly set up these bulbs are a dream, successfully connected to my Echo Dot and within the Alexa app you can create routines and set custom voice commands for a load of different scenarios. The Smart Life app is sound and is easy to use although I use the Alexa app more now that they're connected. My partner ordered another pair for the bedrooms once I'd finally set everything up properly.

Great! Just watch out for power outages
We add these bulbs for convenience and security. They score highly on features with the usual voice control, colour, and brightness options. They're recommended with a caveat when the power is restored after an outage, they all turn on. All of them.If they were OFF, then they'll be ON. They don't re-set before the next event you schedule. That's not a great security feature, nor for our planet? It's advised to schedule an 'all-off' even at least once a day. When installed in a bedroom and after being disturbed by your house alarm's announcement of a power outage, you now get alerted when the power is restored. Right in your sleepy face. We also use smart plugs, which return to their stored status following a power outage. Logically, the bulbs could be programmed to do the same? I dropped a Star for that because sleeplessness makes me mean.

Easy to install, bright and cool
The media could not be loaded. Amazing lights, easy to install and set up with alexa.First of all these were very simple to install. You just screw it in the same way you would a normal light bulb. Flip the switch on and off a couple times and they go into pairing mode where you pair them with the app and thats it. After the pairing you can control brightness and colours. The app also can connect to the alexa app so you can use voice commands and motion sensors to switch them on/off or change colours. It’s worth mentioning that you do not even need to be at home. As long as you have an internet connection you can check if you left the lights on and simply switch them off. Or if you are like me you can use them to signal to the wife you will be home soon. What I love to do is to set a routine so that 30mins before I have to leave the house all the lights turn a different colour so I can get up and get ready. Also me and the wife made an agreement that we would only use the red light for emergencies so for example if I was coming home and saw the red lights on I would know something was wrong.I like to set the lights to orange in the evenings because it feels more cozy and in the morning I set it to white. The other colours i find not very necessary but I could see it being used for aesthetic, videos ect. Or just to set a certain mood in the room. All in all the lights are bright and work as they should.

Smart bulb
This item arrived safe and well packaged. If you want to voice control your house, then these bulbs are an essential piece of kit. Just connect them to your wifi network by simply turning the light switch on/off, then pair them with your favourite Smart Home controller - like Alexa!I have these all over my house, and have many different programs set up too. This allows the lighting (and other devices) to be fully automated... or switched on/colour changed/dimmed with a simple voice command!! That's the kind of thing I've seen in movies set in the future... but it's here right now! This bulb has the ability to produce any colour and many many different levels of brightness, giving you full control of your smart home.I highly recommend this product.

A good alternative to Hue
If yuou want the colour bulbs and don't want to fork out for the frankly overpriced Philips Hue Bulbs these are a good shout, they are reasonably easy to install though I used secondary pairing mode where the bulb is a wifi network you connect to with your phone... much easier that way.The various colours are great on these and I've found Cyan is my favourite when gaming as it's a cooler light that doesn't take away the tone of the TV.The white can be a bit hospital like (Very white and bright), but you can go into the app itself and adjust the warmth and brightness to bring some of that slight yellow tinge you'd expect with a conventional bulb, once you know those settings you can tell aleaxa to set to that.
