Wow - I'm still trying to process what, exactly, it is I just read, but in the best way possible! This was a truly original read - it' s been a while since I've tackled a paranormal romance, but I can confidently say I don't think I've ever read anything like this before! This is my second read by Colleen Hoover & I'm absolutely in love with her writing - she draws you in right from the beginning & keeps you glued to the pages throughout. I don't want to say too much about this because it's insanely difficult to accurately discuss everything without delving into spoiler territory. I will say this, however - I liked it a lot when I finished it, but as I sat with it more, I realized just how effective the story really was, turning this into a love for me. There was something about the way everything played out that really struck a chord with me, I don't think I expected it to have as big of an emotional punch as it had. I can't wait to go back & give this another read at some point - I think it'll be fascinating going into this again once you know how everything plays out. I hope this isn't her last time dabbling into paranormal romance, it really felt like a much needed breath of fresh air!

A hauntingly unique mix of romance and the supernatural. Colleen Hoover delivered an eerie yet emotional story that kept me turning the pages. The suspenseful atmosphere and unexpected twists made it stand out from her usual books, and I loved the way the relationship developed despite all the strange circumstances. It was a little slow in some parts, but overall a captivating read that blended love and the paranormal in a really fresh way.

Despite that - this book is NOT "Verity", but those who loved it, will probably enjoy this book as well. 😍 The story was interesting, creepy and weird at the same time (well, it still a paranormal romance 😂) - and starts with a big BANG that made me so curious - but the plot was too slow and there were moments I got bored... if I would have read and not heard the audio, I probably would have skipped a few parts - because as a thriller, it needed more suspense... and as a novel, it needed more romance... 😬 📚 “𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. I had some ideas, but I certainly did not expect what happened there. 😱😱😱 To sum up, this book was good (well dah, CoHo wrote it! 😂👑) But it wasn't amazing... I recommend it if you like suspense and paranormal romances.

I'm never disappointed with any if Colleen Hoover's books. I've read almost all of her books and plan I continuing.

I did get surprised by the plot twists multiple times, but the themes were a bit too much for my liking.
