Perfect Fit - Really Improves Camera Ergonomics
I love my Sony camera - but it is a little hard to hold, especially one handed. I've always kept a small tripod attached just to provide extra grip and stability - but had to keep removing it to change the battery/card.This grip is VERY well thought out. It 'could' be slightly deeper for my hands, but is very comfortable. Here are the advantages that I haven't really seen mentioned before:- There are slight gaps where you would normally attach a strap - this allows you to keep your hand/neckstrap attached (though you need to attach it prior to affixing this grip to the camera)- The base allows for full access to the battery/card - but it does add a bit of depth. Big fingers may have a little more issue fitting into the shallow 'tunnel' this creates, but it actually makes me feel that door is a little more protected.- Setting this on the ground means the camera itself is elevated slightly off the dirt - nice.- There are several mounting holes for a tripod - two of which would place your tripod in direct line of the lens axis - which is good for some situations.- The additional holes move a small quick-release plate far enough over so that you do not have to remove it (or a mini-tripod) in order to access the battery. So what I gained was great grip and the ability to leave a small plate/tripod attached all the time.Finally. I feel I can mount a tripod much more securely - I'm not screwing into the mount (which is surrounded by plastic). This makes the camera feel much more secure on the tripod and I don't deal with minor slippage from mini-tripods that have small rubber bases.

Greatly Elevates Camera Aesthetics and Utility, With Some Compromises
I purchased this item on my own with no compensation for this review. Please click on Helpful at the bottom of this review if what I wrote is useful to you.I have the original Stellar camera, which is nothing more than the Sony RX100 Mark I with some special graphics and packaging….and a wooden hand grip. Since using that I have wondered why Sony didn’t offer a model or an add-on that replicated that for their RX 100 models. They have a very small plastic stick-on grip for their RX 100s which helps a bit, but it doesn’t have much heft.Enter the SmallRig L-Shape Bracket Wooden Grip. This simply screws into the bottom of your RX100’s tripod mount and from that point on, you’ve got a hefty and secure hand-grip that elevates both the look and utility of this camera. This camera is considered by most as the best compact camera made, but Sony’s designs are not known for their elegance or flair. This provides some of that while giving you a tremendous boost in your control of the camera.Furthermore, the base is really solid, so you can put the camera down without fear it will tip over.I love this but want to let you know of some compromises and minor issues that will be part of having this on your very own RX100:● This makes the world’s most pocketable 1-inch sensor camera much less pocketable. You’ll fit it in your jacket pocket, but there’s no way it’s going in your skinny jeans’ front pocket like it did before you added this accessory.● There is some weight to this. That’s good for stability, but it is noticeable.● To provide for two new (left + right) strap attachments which compensates for the handle obscuring the camera’s original one, and I’m pretty sure to help balance the visual aesthetics of the top “section” of the camera, the base is taller/deeper than it otherwise needs to be. This further makes the camera less pocketable with this SmallRig Wooden Grip attached to it. See my photos for examples.● You will fumble a bit at first with your zoom control because your finger has to first go around the handle. This will abate within a couple of days.● At some point you will wonder whether you really need the handle, but after just a few days of use, you will not want to be without it.● I don’t know how consistent the wood is from specimen to specimen. The ones I saw in the marketing materials looked a little oak-like and I wasn’t thrilled. But my specimen is almost cherry- or teak-like and looks terrific as seen in the photos. I wish there were a way to choose your wood or style like there was with the original Stellar version of the RX 100 Mark I.● The marketing materials I saw on every site never really showed all the sides to prove that nothing was obscured or unreachable with the grip attached. That concerned me, but it turns out except for the hand strap attachment which has been provided separately in the new base itself, everything is completely accessible. So I’ve provided photos of all six sides so you can see for yourself that you don’t lose access to anything with it.Overall, these minor compromises and notable points are simply things you should be aware of and do not diminish the utility or look of this product. But there is one real negative, also raised by many other reviewers. The handle/base attaches with a hex wrench. They provide the wrench, but we all know what happens a week later – it gets lost. I cannot figure out why in the world they could not have made the attachment screw a Phillips head instead, tools for which exist aplenty in every home in the world. If nothing else, they could have used some of the expansive empty space in the base to securely store the tool.Despite that irritant, this is one of the best camera accessories I’ve ever used. Highly recommend.

Fits Perfectly, Looks Great, Adds Real Gripping Capability to the RX100
Most people who have any generation of the Sony RX100 series camera love them, but one of the very things we like so much about them--their smallness--also contributes to difficulty in getting a good grip on them. The RX100 bodies (at least up to the 7th generation) are made with a smooth finish on the body which, while looking nice, makes it all the more difficult to ensure it stays in your hand. A wrist strap is highly recommended. This new grip from SmallRig is a very high-quality piece of equipment that mounts to the bottom of your RX100 via a single hex screw and adds a supremely comfortable and nice-looking grip to the right side of the camera while only adding about 60 g of weight or so. This is no piece of rubbish: it is a well-built and finished piece of hardware that perfectly fits on the RX100 and really makes one-hand holding of the camera much more feasible. The wood is very well finished, with a light oak color that contrasts well with the modern look of the camera. giving it a kind of unique appearance. The curves on the grip are made just in the right places so that your fingers fall into a comfortable position on the camera and the grip. I suspect this will also help in reducing blur in photos because of the improved grip this piece offers. You can still use a tripod with this grip attached, as there are four screw holes on the bottom of the grip for such a purpose. Also, in an appreciated touch, the grip does not cover the battery and card slot, so you can change both batteries and cards without removing and replacing the grip. The only thing I can really think of that is not so good is that mounting and removing the piece requires the use of the supplied hex screwdriver. It would have been better to have a built-in screw with a folding handle that would negate the need to keep track of the second piece of hardware. Quite frankly, on a device this nice, I'm pretty shocked they did not do this. Nevertheless, I will easily give this a five-star rating. It's a great product.

Nice Grip
It fits nicely. It looks good. Compared to the JJC, it has longer depth on the bottom. My only complaint would be that the wooden grip blocks the eyelet on the top right. It does not matter to me as I use either a wrist strap or a sling where I don't need to use the top eyelets.
