False adverising.Does not work. And can drain the battery.
Says it works out of accesory plug. Neglects to tell you most new cars the accesory plug is turn off with the ignition so there is no direct connection to the battery. You have to rewire your accesory to be hot all the time before the tender with show an on light. And if you leave it plugged in at night it drains your battery. Great idea if it actually worked right out of the box as a plug and play device.

Not IP67. It failed. Had plenty of wind-blown dirt inside. Circuit board water damaged
Do not buy if your going to leave it outside. I had mine mounted on the roof of my tractor shed to keep the tractor's battery charged. It quit working. I took it apart and found wind-blown dirt inside and one of the circuit boards was corroded from water damage. The solar panel still works but is useless without the charge controller. The shameful claim of an IP67 rating is bogus. Will not buy anymore battery tender products. Why do companies think we want to buy junk? I just don't get it.

Suction cups aren't great, but the charger works great for maintenance
I use this charger in my older pickup truck to charge and maintain the multiple batteries it needs. Before this charger my batteries were constantly dying or draining out from weather/temperature or some parasitic drain that I can't find. A few weeks after I plugged this in, my older batteries are working as strong as the day I bought them. Panel gets about 8 hours of direct sunlight per day and keeps up with whatever parasite draw and weather the batteries face. No issues with starting right up with this in place. The suction cups leave something to be desired. Clean windshield placement and a good hard suction only holds up for a few days before the panel falls off the glass. I have to keep a support under the panel to keep it secure and attached to the glass. I am unsure why the cups aren't holding all that well; it could be from weather changes or it could be that the material is a little too hard and doesn't want to hold shape. The 12V outlet plug works fine, but the cable is a lot longer than I need. I have about 6-ft of cord on the charger cable, and it ends up just being in the way a lot. More apt for placements that aren't on the front windshield.

Sufficient bypass for faulty Gator charging system
Bought old JD Gator with a faulty charging system. Overhaul would be a few hundred dollars. Battery power only needed for starting and headlights, no other power draws. So I tried this as a cheap workaround. So far, Gator is starting and lights operating as needed, with continuous go-anywhere daytime charging/maintenance.Re suction cups: eventually fell from mount in pic. Sitting flat now, with cord run along rim of bed. I brush off farm dust regularly, and does just fine. Occasional rain has not hurt it so far.

Keeps the battery topped off during those cold winter months
I bought this for my college student's car. It sits a lot during the cold winter months, and this helps keep the battery from draining when it's not driven much. I got the adapter that plugs into the OBD-II port, and it works great. It doesn't take much daylight to produce a charge, and it even works fine on cloudy days. Suction cups can secure it to a window, but it also works fine just setting it on the dash or flat in the back window. At 5W, you're not going to charge up a completely dead battery; but this will help make sure your battery stays topped off for when you need it.

Doesn't regulate properly
I purchased this solar charger to maintain the battery in a vehicle with networked electronic modules and a custom security system. The security system uses standard electronic components, many of which are specified to a maximum of 15VDC. I connected the solar battery charger to a 6.5Ahr SLA battery to test it after leaving the solar charger accidentally plugged in while driving down the road for the first time. Coincidentally the check engine light appeared and the DEF pump failed during that 15 minute drive. During the testing on the SLA 12V battery the voltage exceeded 15V and has done so repeatedly. I returned the unit to Beltran the maker to be repaired under warranty which cost me $28 in shipping. I was told the unit was working properly there was nothing wrong and the unit would never exceed 14.2V. However, they were sending a new replacement unit because they had no one to return my unit. I think they lost it because they couldn't find it initially. A new unit arrived. I tested this one and it did the same exact thing. Exceeded 15V. I purchased a competitors regulated solar battery maintainer and it works as it should never exceeds 14.4V. It was cheaper, lighter, has more attachments, stays attached to the windshield better and has twice the charging watts. I have two of the battery tender plug-in maintainers which have worked perfectly for many years, but the solar charger was a big disappointment and so was their customer and engineering support. I provided pictures of the solar charge reading 15.2V told them a competitors unit works fine using the same testing setup and yet they continued to tell me it was working properly. The unit failed a couple of months after I attached it to a dump trailer battery, fully exposed to the weather. They again replaced the item for free as it was still just within the warranty period. I took the old unit apart to see what happened. The Battery Tender is sold as WATERPROOF. It is NOT! There are NO seals or sealant anywhere! Inside both circuit boards, the tabs on the solar panel the wires attaching to the boards were corroded and practically fell off. One circuit board attachment screw could not be removed it was so rusted it would not come out. The unit's internals were completely destroyed. Water must have sat inside the unit for several months. Never again.
