Quality
I recently purchased this sharpening hone after realizing my kitchen knives were barely cutting through tomatoes anymore. I didn’t want to spend a fortune or send them out to be professionally sharpened, so I figured I’d give this a shot—and I’m honestly blown away by the results. The hone feels sturdy and well-made, and the grit (I went with a medium/fine combo) was just right for touching up all my everyday knives. Within minutes, I had my chef’s knife slicing paper like it was butter. It also worked well on my pocketknife and even a dull chisel I had lying around. I appreciate that it doesn’t require oil—just a little water and it’s good to go. Cleaning it was easy, and it hasn’t worn down or dished at all yet after multiple uses. For the price, the performance is seriously impressive. If you’re on the fence or new to sharpening, this is a great entry-level hone that still delivers pro-level results. I’d recommend watching a quick video on sharpening technique to avoid damaging your edge—once you get the hang of it, it’s incredibly satisfying.

Great!
Great sharpening stone. I didn’t pay attention to the size when I bought it & was pleasantly surprised by how large it is. Sharpens my knives well.

works as advertised.
This is my first Wetstone ( as I'm still using dad's old Arkansas oil Stone witch is like 60 yrs old ) I decided to try this because I'm tired of the oily mess from the old oil stone, this stone works really well the 400 Grit really takes off some material and the 1000 touches it up quite quickly , I sharpened about a dozen knives with it and you can already see it's starting to wear the stone down this is why I gave it four stars it seems to wear down pretty fast ,but it does work really good ! At a good price.

Very Useful Sharpening Stone
As others have mentioned this is a good double grit (400/1000) stone for sharpening or touching up knives, scissors, axes, small hatchets and other items that cut. Only water (not oil) is needed to make a nice slurry lubricant that will assist in creating a very sharp cutting edge. Many years ago when I was in the Cub Scouts I learned how important it is to keep the original cutting edge ANGLE the same and move the entire cutting edge SLOWLY over the stone to create a consistent/even grind on both sides of the blade. It is important to occasionally check the cutting edge for dullness or sharpness. By doing this on this stone you will be rewarded with a very sharp cutting edge that can be used with pride for years to come. The stone arrived quickly and was clean and perfectly flat on both sides. Well worth $10!
