So glad I listened!
WOW. I didn't expect anything fantastic from a camping pillow I bought, but WOW. I can't stand inflatable pillows. The rest of the aches and pains that come with roughing it, I can handle. But neck pains, not so much. This luxury camping pillow is going to spare me that pain. Anyone on that plane or in that campground with you, even sitting in business elite or in their camper, along with anyone else you run into on your travels, will be jealous because you have this pillow to keep you cozy. I'd read reviews where people said they were replacing their regular bed pillows with these, and I think I might have to, as well. It's that comfortable! Each and every summer, my family goes camping and some of us backpack. Our trip is next month and I'm so excited to take this pillow with me. This, I think, will be staying in the tent when we go out backpacking, though. Bit heavy to take along, unless it's a short trip and I can spare the weight and space. For a better backpacking pillow (also foam, lighter-weight, rolls up compact enough [for me], head not sinking straight to the ground), I'd take a look at Therm-a-Rest. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0773H412H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I got a medium and it's about the same size as this pillow, packs a bit smaller, and is lighter. Not as supportive, but then, you give up many luxuries on the trail. A fluffy, non-inflatable pillow doesn't have to be one of those things you give up, though, if you have the space to spare in your pack. For backpackers, that's what I'd recommend over this. For tent campers, you're golden here.Pros:- supportive, but soft. I love when my head sinks in a bit and I get a nice, gentle cradle to the side of my head when I sleep on my back (I'm a back and side sleeper), and this does that wonderfully. I usually need two pillows for this, one firmer on the bottom and softer on the top, but all I need is this one.- there's a zipper to take off the outer shell, then another zipper holding the foam stuffing (also unbelievably soft. I just dunked my hand in to fluff it up and let the smell escape some). The outer shell can be washed, but I don't know about the rest of it. I plan to put a toddler pillowcase over it and waterproof the outer zipper shell to keep the foam dry in the backcountry.- fits into the stuff sack well! Mine seemed a bit larger than others' photos, so I wonder if they heard the other reviewers and listened. The stuff sack, while on the cheaper side, seems like it'll hold up okay so long as it's not being swung around too roughly. It does have a nifty strap on the outside if you want to strap it to your backpack.Cons:- smells chemically when you first take it out. Not too strong, but enough for someone sensitive to have potential issues.- UPDATE: the outer protective zipper case is difficult to close once opened. The zipper gets stuck in the fabric surrounding it, poking holes along the way. Doesn't bother me enough to remove a star, since I barely need it, but it's annoying enough to mention.

Finally the perfect camping pillow
As an outdoor enthusiast I have been through my share of camping pillows. I have had everything from inflatable pillows, To the biggest brand name camping pillows. Hands down this pillow beats them all. It's slightly heavier than my other pillows I have. It weighs in at 1lb 10.5oz. I am more of a camper than a Backpacker so this doesn't bother me at all.Like any memory foam product, you need to let it off gas a bit when you first get it. I would suggest opening the package and let it air out for a day and then put it in the dryer for 10 minutes on low heat for the manufacturer's recommendation to allow the fluff up to its maximum capacity. It has pretty good Heat distribution, very good support and is large enough for an adult yet small enough to be portable for camping up too much space in its provided compression sack. The GOOD:1. The price is reasonable2. The size is great. 24" diagonal. About 12" x17" and 7" thick when fully fluffed.3. It's memory foam "bits" so it restores to normal shape easily4. Comfortable5. Comes with a compression sackThe BAD:1. Nothing bad to reportOther:Overall they Comfort, size, weight, and portability it has to be a great camping pillow. Previously I have been pretty stuck on my pillows from Browning Outdoors but this is definitely my go-to pillow at this point.

Best pillow ever!
New favorite pillow. Watch out because you may accidentally nap for 5 hours while testing it out, like I did today. Im already using this regularly at home on the couch or extra tv pillow in bed.I'm already a fan and regular user of shredded memory foam adjustable loft pillows. They offer great support and mold to your needs when you lay on it. They are also very soft and don't make you hot. They don't lose their shape or go flat because you can just shake it out and refluff. This Coop pillow has a double cover so you can wash the main cover, it's super soft and cool to the touch. I'll likely be swapping out my other brand bed pillows for Coop. They do take about a week to get the loft right (removing and adding each night) and take a little time to get used to what might feel like a lumpy pillow. But it's worth the effort once you get it right. You'll never go back. I'm thrilled by this travel size. I travel a lot, whether it be international, long weekends, my timeshare or to friends ski houses and pillows are my biggest struggle when I'm not home. This will be coming everywhere. It's easy to roll up and get into the bag and the straps work easily to further smush it down.Yes it has a slight odor at first, and it takes about 30 mins to fully fluff up the first time. Just air it out for a couple days or throw it in the dryer. Smell will go away.
