ESSENTIAL READING!
Not a job hunting book, but a career book. You may find that you are doing what you were meant to be doing, but at least you'll know why and quit wasting time looking and fretting. Maybe you'll make some mid-course adjustments, rather than a career change. Maybe the book will cause you to do things better, with a sense of purpose. Very enlighting book.

I think the ?1995 version was better
To be fair I didn't read through it all yet but I did glean through it having read an older version that my jerk ex husband borrowed from me and never returned. I wish he would give me my book back because this version is so disappointing compared to the old one but some parts of it does need to be updated. It's so wierd they left out a lot of parts the old one had like some resources at the end of the book and replaced it with some never ending mission of GOD theme he thinks you should be on. I believe in God still but not in people acting decent or wanting to think about anyone but themselves any more. I never expected this kind of thing to be in a job hunting book. I tried to order the old book but I wasn't sure what year it was but I picked 1995 & then Amazon claimed the book store ran out so why did they take my money? How does that happen & it was a long time before they finally told me that in a email. Now they have another 1995 one supposably but it's like $8+ more?! The flower petals exercise is one of the most important parts of the book so I started wondering if I should have just ordered the book on just the flower petals exercise that I didn't know existed before. I was so disappointed in it I've been letting it lay and collect dust. The flower petals exercise is not laid out the same way. Maybe it's a lot smaller or something but whatever it is I don't like it. He did have to much information for resources that only helped people in California in the old book but it's an idea. I think he should have done so much better it's not funny since he writes a new version every year I think. If I had any more comments I might try to do another review.

Should be compulsory reading for the human race
This book is extremely comprehensive. It obviously doesn't have everything, but it gives you a very solid foundation. More than anything it gives you an extremely thorough framework for explicitly assessing your skills and interests, and inspires you think big.It gives a great starting point for your job interview skills and salary negotiation, and points to further reading. This book dares you to believe that your dream job really exists, and that you can really find it. And that alone makes it worth reading.

Incredibly boring. I'd rather listen to Janice.
To sum up, this is a book on what agencies there are, how to write your CV, and also asks you questions "what do you like". I was able to ask this question myself before reading this book, thank you very much. Incredibly boring surface stuff, Mr. Bolle. Also, I am not interested and it does not help me in any way to know how you felt when you were fired.
