About a year ago, one of the rollers “broke” in that the top rack itself would not stay attached to one of the four rollers. If have to constantly try to get it re-aligned to the roller knowing it wasn’t going to hold but it would be good enough for the rack itself to stay balanced and not break further. The roller would be loose again about every other time we used the dishwasher. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago when the same thing happened on the other side, and I was left with a rack that would collapse at any moment if we weren’t extremely careful. We were overdue for a fix.I found the OEM kit for about $50 before searching on Amazon, and I ultimately bought this one for about $20.Three main points:1. I ignorantly assumed that I could keep some of the existing brackets in place and just replace the broken parts. This is a completely different kit, so you’ll take off your existing brackets/rollers entirely from your top rack. Just pry it off with a flat head screwdriver.2. The instructions are bad, but I found a YouTube video which walked me through the install very quickly. Just search the kit number and you’ll find videos.3. You need a Torx screwdriver (star-shaped screwdriver) for the four screws. REALLY!? I happen to have one that fit, but this would be very annoying if you order this and realize you don’t have the tool to put it on. The kit didn’t come with a tool or a tool adapter (like the kit in the YouTube video I watched came with.) In any case, it was a non-issue for me, but you should know this if you’re considering buying.At the end of the day, all I care about it the parts are working and it was pretty quick to install (~15 min), and I think this re-design from the terrible OEM design will last longer. For that alone, this is 5 stars.

Easy install and a perfect replacement to the fragile plastic.

Item is great and definitely heavier duty/better quality than the original part Whirlpool provides. However, the directions were terrible. Do yourself a favor and Google the part number - installation video and you'll find somebody that can walk you through it really quickly. The screws it comes with are pretty crappy too and are only zinc coated so they will likely rust

No problems at all. Directions are rough but it’s pretty simple. It seems to be an improvement over the factory part.

Exactly what we needed to fix the dishwasher. All the larts fit perfectly, and are very durable.

I have a whirlpool dishwasher with an adjustable top rack. It was brand new and we upgraded to get it with the house. After 1 year, the plastic from the wheel snapped! It was after the 1 year limited warranty and replacement parts from whirlpool was too expensive. They offer a similar, upgraded metal adjustable rack from their site. Well, if I paid so much for a dishwasher, why didn't they provide me with sturdy metal parts to begin with??? Irritated by whirlpool's craftsmanship and business ethics, I decided to buy this alternative on Amazon. It came with decent instructions but I watched a video on YouTube anyway to ensure I was installing it properly. It's been 2 months and this product has been working well. No issues with it yet.

First of all, this is a great price, less than half than the regular appliance parts sites. The part has been completely redesigned and replaced the weight bearing parts with metal. The instructions are just some relatively poor pictures with some text, there's no parts list so their descriptions of the parts to use with the part names don't help much. The pictures are probably OK if they weren't so small as to not show detail. Fortunately with a bit of common sense the parts fit together pretty easily, only one set of parts are right/left specific, everything else is the same for both sides. Total time working on it was around 15 minutes.

The media could not be loaded. Our Whirlpool dishwasher top hardware was all plastic, the reason the wheels broke. This replacement is stainless steel. The design while slightly different, is an excellent replacement. The instructions are bad, the only reason why it isn't 5-stars. YouTube provided the best instructions which should be watched before purchasing, to know what you will need to do to install. I'm handy and had no real issues with installation. There's more finesse than skill needed. The 4-screws required a star bit (not Phillips or flat head). Overall, I'm so glad I purchased this part rather than the Whirlpool replacement!
