Bern Hudson Commuter Bike Helmet with MIPS, Rated for E-Bike, Integrated LED Rear Light and U-Lock Compatibility

I recently started commuting on a scooter to work, and wanted a helmet for both night visibility and that looked "adult". This meets both criteria. The LED red light is bright, and offers a strobe and flash mode for high visibility. It is also detachable and is recharged through micro-usb (not usb C sadly).The helmet features the MIPS impact system, a big plus for me. Good to know that if I take a tumble what little brains I have will remain somewhat unscrambled. This system works by having a thin plastic lining in the helmet that shifts on impact, allowing the helmet to absorb more rotational force than a traditional helmet. This stops the impact energy from being directly transferred into your head, and therefore your brain (not good!). Very important.I also was surprised at how well the visor does at keeping the sun out of my eyes during my morning commute. The way the helmet sits (at least on me) is just above my eyebrows on the front, so the visor is perfectly positioned to keeping my eyes in the shade. The visor is also removable and they include a separate velcro comfort strap to take its place that also does a great job of soaking up your sweat.The fit system this helmet uses is a very friendly harness system with twist knob. Simply tighten the knob to get the perfect fit on your head (you still need to get the correct size helmet of course). No fiddling with a bunch of straps and tightening/loosening and hoping you got it right. You will feel this thing grip the occipital knob on the back of your head and KNOW it is in the correct spot.Overall, well worth the money for an easy to use and very safe helmet with multiple great safety features!

I have had this BERN Hudson helmet for close to a year and no complaints. Looks good, easy to fit to head, liked the visor and light. Most importantly it worked - as in I took a spill and know for a fact that the helmet did the job. Riding through the local park I came off the edge of the pavement (yes, I was going too fast) and the drop off was deeper than expected when I tried to get back onto the pavement I lost control and wrecked. As they say "everything happened so fast" but I do remember smacking my helmet hard on the pavement and hearing the helmet grind across the pavement. I had some pretty bad scrapes on my left arm and leg (ouch it still hurts thinking about them). I am quite sure that things would have been much worse without the helmet. So, yes, I will buy this helmet again.

Either they should redesign the light on the back to not fall off every 10 seconds, or scrap the light altogether. It falls off way too easy and unfortunately the last time it fell off, I couldn't find it again. Now there is a stupid looking opening in the back, so I just went ahead and bought a Thousand "Chapter MIPS helmet" that was $30.00 cheaper, yet better quality and no issues with backlight. I hate that I bought this.

I haven't used it yet but I have gone through unpackaging, fitting & sorting through parts. I purchased this to use as a new electric scooter owner.It comes well packaged, with a bonus sticker tag.My head measured 22 1/4-22 1/5 inches (approx 67 cm.) so I ordered the Medium. It has a loose fit but the dial adjusts it tightly on my head.I love the visor & its removable with a replacement pad included.The lock holes are a nice size & the light pops easily in & out for charging.Overall, I'm impressed with the look, fit, quality & the price was fair.

For a helmet that's over $100, the light they used is amazingly bad. It hardly registers, no way to tell if it's on while it's on your head (yeah it's that weak, I tried cupping my hand over it to see the red reflection, nothing even though it was on and strobing). It's also a straight up b**** to take out to charge.The rest of the helmet is pretty nice, seems well designed if you take the light out of the equation. The locking system works well and is comfortable and the ability to swap out the visor is nice. I honestly would have paid an extra $30-40 if they had a nicer light. I would even prefer a hardwired light with a usb in the helmet to charge it if that meant the actual light was of better quality/brighter.Overall I'm not entirely disappointed but if you're buying this helmet for the light, run, run far far away.I'm really considering just filling in the light hole with molding and slapping some red reflective tape over it. It will probably be brighter than the light, would need zero charging and I wouldn't have to guess or take my whole helmet off to see if the light is working.

Purchased an ebike and wanted to upgrade helmet. Read a lot of reviews. This appears well made. Very comfortable. MIPS good feature. Had issue w light and immediately resolved.

Love this helmet. I had a slight matter with the light but Bern Customer Service came to the rescue and addressed it promptly. It's been very reliable since and I'm beyond satisfied. Highly recommended!

Purchased this helmet for my new Ariel Rider D class E-Bike. It can go over 30 mph so needed a helmet that could take a hard crash. I didn’t want to wear a motorcycle certified helmet due to size and weight. The helmet is light weight and easily adjustable. The sizing guide on the Bern website is accurate. The removable visor is handy for “some” sun blockage and easy to wash. Held in place by Velcro tabs. The bike lock holes also are a nice feature. I hate carrying my helmet with me into stores, etc.

Der Helm hält, was er verspricht und sieht dazu noch klasse aus. Für jede modebewusste Radlerin und jeden schicken Radler eine klare Kaufempfehlung!Die einzige Frage, die bleibt: Wohin mit dem Zopf? Aber das ist wohl ein allgemeines Problem bei Fahrradhelmen!Dafür ist die Lampe am Hinterkopf der Hammer!Anmerkung zur Farbe: sehr gut kombinierbar. Auffällig, aber trotzdem sehr schlicht.

J'ai remplacé un casque de la marque Casco, et il n'y pas photo, ce casque ne lui arrive pas à la cheville.La jugulaire de détend régulièrement, il faut la resserrer tout les trois jours !!!!Pas top pour la sécurité.En terme de confort celui ci est à peine plus confortable qu'un casque Décathlon d'entrée de gamme.Il n'y a de système de fixation d'oreillette pour protéger les oreilles l'hiver du froid.Bref passer votre chemin.
