A great, cheap way to try an ocarina for the first time or a cheap, functional cosplay prop.
I've had this for a few days now and after a bit of trouble in figuring out how to read 12hole ocarina tabs, I'm having a lot of fun with it. I've already learned how to play Zelda's Lullaby and Lon Lon Ranch/Epona's theme. It's not the highest quality Ocarina, but at a mere 16$ what can you really expect? For it's cost versus quality its quite good, and useful for any cosplay who needs a cheap but functional Ocarina. I may invest in a nicer ocarina down the line, but wanted a cheap one to test the waters and so far I'm having a blast.I gave it 4 stars for two reasons. Although it's excellent quality for the cost, I'm not sure why the "banding" near the mouth piece isn't gold like it originally is, and It has some discoloration near the windhole where noise comes out of. The other reason is that It really didn't come with anything; Just an ocarina in bubblewrap that just said "Here it is, have at it." .It would have been nice to have an instruction booklet or a few sample tabs included for some easy Zelda songs. (I'd have recommended Zelda's Lullaby as a starter, Epona's Song as an intermediate, and Saria's song as a medium-hard to kick it off.)Still, to anyone looking to try an ocarina with little investment, or need a cheap functional prop for a cosplay, this is a great value; Just keep in mind it's not supposed to be anything but a basic ocarina.

Dont listen to that guy
I see the guy posting videos to all these Zelda replica ocarinas giving them bad reviews. Here is the knitty gritty.. He is an experienced player of Ocarinas. Of course novelty items like this are beneath him. If you want a master crafted musical instrument, don't buy a cheap novelty item. But still this novelty will impress you...Mine came very well packaged. He states his came in an envelope. Mine came like this: The ocarina was in a small decorated box filled with form fitted Styrofoam protecting the ocarina, and this box was inside a slightly bigger box filled with a lot of bubble wrap. This thing wouldn't break if it was thrown off a cliff.Next the quality. This ocarina is gorgeous. Simply beautiful. The sheen on the finish is awesome. And contrary to what has been said mine was in impressive tune. Sure not perfect, but this is a NOVELTY PIECE. You get what you pay for, and I think in this case you get a little more. Im sure you will look up the fingering to Zeldas Lullaby, learn to play it, and be impressed. Its not a master crafted instrument. It is a novelty item. And I am more than happy with what I bought. It was a valentines day gift for my wife who is obsessed with Zelda and she loves it!

Not the worst but certainly not the best.
So when I bought this Ocarina I was a complete novice at the instrument knowing nothing at all And I had very little cash at the time (I had just payed my bills) and found this Ocarina. Now this ocarina is not tuned well at all but since a lot of people who buy this will most likely be beginners this was fine not having known what one sounds like was a little more helpful as I could play make mistakes and not worry as much. So for a beginner this was not so bad since its cheap I could buy it practice get used to an ocarina and decide if I liked the instrument. Visually it looks like the ocarina of time from Legend of Zelda and since this is the second reason some people would buy it and for people who only want to use it as a display its perfect for them. As for shipping I had heard that people were receiving them in envelopes basically. But when I ordered mine about three months ago it came inside a box with Styrofoam and a tab sheet. Is it amazing no is it complete garbage no but for its price it serves its jobs ok sure it wont sound super pretty but it also can help beginners because its affordable. But to anyone who is a experienced ocarina player this ocarina is not for you.

Very pretty
It's beautiful. It arrived late, but it was worth it. It looks exactly like the picture and mine came with a box that pictured it and Link playing it along with a songbook, and a cord to string it. It's a christmas gift so I can't say how it sounds, but I'll try to remember to update this. It's pretty enough and was cheap enough that I'm fine with it just being a show piece if he doesn't like the sound. My pictures don't do it justice. (The pen is to give an idea of the size.)Update: According to him it sounds like a recorder, but he hasn't tried much since he doesn't want to get saliva into it and let it get gross. (Would likely be difficult to clean as the inside is a raw white ceramic not finished like outside.) He was thrilled with the way it looks and that it's such high quality. It has a nice heft too since it isn't plastic. One of his favorite gifts this year.

Not flawless, but great Ocarina!!!
Let me start off by saying that this is a beautiful instrument. The paint really shines and it's a good size. The color is a bit darker than expected, so it's not perfectly accurate to the game, but that's no big deal. There was a bit of paint chipped off upon arrival, not too noticeable. The quality of sound is not very stunning, but it does play notes and you can play songs on it with a bit of control and practice. Didn't come with instructions, so you're on your own to learn how to play 12 hole Ocarina. This was obviously designed for aesthetics more than tone, but overall a great gift, costume piece, or decoration, or just something to impress other Zelda fans. I am happy with the purchase and would recommend the product, and although it's by no means perfect, it's gorgeous.

Excellent Product
So it's in great shape, and plays well. You just have to learn to channel your air to make it sound more in tune. It's fairly easy to play and well worth the money. I started playing music in 2006 when I was 12 years old I joined band, and I am 20 years old now. I know how to play multiple instruments, and I highly recommend this for someone wanting to learn to play. I suggest a recorder first so you can learn to channel your air up/down so you can reach those high notes and keep it in tune. Other than that it is in perfect shape, plays well, and sounds amazing. Not to mention I was told it wasn't supposed to be delivered until September, it's already here and I couldn't be more satisfied with that!

It sounds good. Should have more songs to learn but you can find it on the interent. A case or a bag is not a bad idea to include.
