Renovation Kit for Delta RP54870 600 Series Tub and Shower, Chrome

This kit worked perfectly. I was hoping I'd be able to pull out a cartridge and replace it, but I found a strange ball valve and seals and springs. Wasn't sure how that was fixable. I was going to order just a kit of guts, but when I found this set I thought about how hideous my existing valve set was, I figured I'd gamble with it. Turned out to work perfectly, looks great in a 1970s way. I'll end up remodeling and changing the look, but for now it's nice and shiny, functional and new. No more crusty water deposites and leaks.

This purchase was for the exterior only, since I didn't actually open up the plumbing to replace the interior ball valve. The old unit is 40 years old and looked worn. My only complaint is that the new cover is chromed plastic not metal, but it looks fine.

Easy to use with the retractable chain. Keeps my irons nice a clean.

All the parts fit. No leaks.

The most important part (the ball valve), was missing from the kit i received. The chrome trim plate turned out to be lightweight plastic. Poor choice.

I used this to update a brass shower fixture and it worked great - looks brand new! I had to spray paint one small section gray - and the ball and dial fit right on with no plumbing issues/needs. Recolorized my grout and got a new shower head. Great way to get a new shower for such a small price!

Received with multiple wrong parts. Contacted the seller to get a replacement ball piece that was received for the lever handle not the knob handle that came with it, they shipped it out immediately and received it fast. Then realized the back plate was not the right size to fit the handle also. Not worth contacting again at this point just want my shower working. Works great when we got the right piece and it installed fine, we will deal with the old plate instead of getting a new one. Check your parts as soon as you receive it.

When you replace these you often need to cut the old retaining ring off which damages the trim collar. The trim collar is not included in this kit which is a bit misleading because it is pictured in the listing. The new plate is also plastic. I decided to keep the original metal one.
