Review: Silence-thrid book of Hush Hush series - This is the third book in the Hush Hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick and I've been anticipating this to come out for months. It picks up right after the big cliff-hanger at the end of book 2. After she's gone missing for 3 months, Nora finds herself back in Coldwater. She has no recollection of what has happened to her in the last five months. As she slowly gets back to her normal life, clues from her past starts to resurface which she cannot understand. Before she can figure this all out, she finds herself in the middle of a war between fallen angels and nephilim and her enemy is closer than she expects. Before giving my opinion, I have some friendly reminder to fellow readers. First of all, it will definitely help to read the first two books before reading this to fresh your memory. Secondly, for those Patch/Jev fans, you have to be patient as Patch-Nora interaction does not appear until about Chapter 10-11(about 1/3) of the book. It was an incredible read with a lot happening and it did not fail in capturing my attention all the way through. At the end of book 2, we find out who the "Black Hand" is and you may suspect if Becca would literally continue with the incident at the shed but you get something different, putting a lot of suspense in the story. Personally, I have to admit I was quite frustrated when reading the first few chapters with Nora having no idea what's going on due to her amnesia. It felt like the characters are being put into an alternative reality and no one remembers Patch or Rixon. And through her childhood friend Scott, Nora finds out some of her past, along with her own work and instincts. This is the reason for my second reminder. You have to be patient and give the girl to work things out. However, after Nora meeting Jev again, the roller coaster ride begins and the pace of the story starts to pick up. We have a fair proportion of fallen angels and nephil encounters and it's packed with lots of action. By this book, I am sure all readers are very familiar with the powers of both fallen angels and nephil. I like the way the author develops further on the "invading dreams" ability, which we have not seen a lot so far. In book 2, we saw Patch using it to reveal the past to Nora but in this book, it becomes their main channel of communication. This book is also full of magical items mentioned in previous books such as the Black Hand ring, the archangel necklace. You can definitely see the similarity between the "Black Hand ring" and "the ring" in Lord of the Rings with both giving powers to the owner and also get him/her addicted. I also like the idea of the black feather from the angel's wings. As for characters, it's good to see Scott taking a more central role in the story and it's fun to have around. The only disappointment I have is with Vee. It feels like we see more Marcie than Vee in this book. While it's good to see a different side of Marcie, I still prefer to see more of Vee. I enjoyed reading her conversations with Nora in previous books and there is not enough of their girly time together in this book. Let me move on to the main characters. As I have said, you need to be patient and you will be rewarded or even spoiled with quite a few good Nora-Patch moment, including an introduction to Patch's studio- I am sure black silk sheets can be very comfortable!!! In this book they work more like a team and putting full trust into each other which is good. I also like the way the author makes use of the names Jev and Patch to show the status of their relationship-Jev represents not being together while Patch represent them being together. Towards the end of the story with Patch explaining his deal with the archangels, the author takes us back to the events in the very first book. I have to say the writing and layout of the plot is very clever in this book and also for the whole series and Becca has again surprised me. The storylines from previous books are coming together nicely in this third instalment, like pieces of puzzle coming together in a picture. And hence it's worth reading the previous books before starting with this one. Nora is now pureblood Nephil and leader of the Nephil Blood Society which will cause a lot of tension between her and Patch. As a personal speculation for the next and last book in the series, I would not be too surprised if Scott takes up the role of second-in-command for Nora or some sort. On the other hand, we have seen fallen angels and nephilim and the missing variable now is the archangels. I can't wait for the next book to come out!! Review: Possibly best book ever read - This book was just incredible. I read it in one night, I was just completely hooked. After reading Crescendo I had to order this book immediately, and finished it the same day it arrived. Anyone who enjoys gothic fantasy and romance must read this series. It is amazing. At first, its confusing. She doesnt remember anything, and this bit is a bit frustrating as we just want to get to the good bits. Its very cleverly done though. We know everything that Nora doesnt and so when she starts asking questions you feel as if you want to tell her. It does feel very disconnected from the other books at this point because its completely different, but it definantly captured my attention as I just wanted to know what happened and when everything would be explained! I think thats what made me read it so quickly, it was just so gripping. Once the confusing part passes, it really gets good. There is action round every corner, with some twists and turns too. Patch/Jev is just amazing, you really will end up falling in love with him. He is very different than in any of the other books and we see a very different side to him. We see some secrets shared and finally get to see where he lives after much anticipation. Nothings a smooth ride though, and everything is just very exciting. The ending is the best part. There is a very good twist, not entirely unexpected but still very surprising! You wouldnt guess its going to happen. Yet through it all, Patch still loves her and its just so heartwarming reading about them. The book is just unbelievably gripping, you wont want to put it down! Even once you've finished it, your'll want to know more. I cant wait for the next one and to be able to once again lose myself in there world. I wish I hadnt read it so fast, I miss the characters now! Its by far the best in the series so far, and possibly one of the best books ive ever read. Honestly, you'd be silly not to read it!

This book is amazingly written and really makes you feel like you're actually there. I loved Hush Hush, Crescendo and I also love Silence. It's actually my favourite series and I love how Becca has a steamy, romantic and mysterious way of writing. Now I just can't wait to read Finale. Yay! So excited and I strongly recommend this series to everyone!💙 PS I love Becca Fitzpatrick and her talented writing skills.

I read the first book because of all the hype, I read the second book because I figured it had to be better than the first book (350 pages of nothing and 50 pages of action at the end), and I read the third book because I had already invested two books into the series and might as well finish it. Imagine my surprise when Silence was actually the best in Becca Fitzpatrick's series! Nora has been kidnapped. When she wakes up in a graveyard, she doesn't realize how long she has been gone or what has happened to her. She was kidnapped in June, but she has lost everything that happened from April to September when she was found. When she returns home, she finds her mother is now dating Hank Millar- Nora's archenemy Marcie's father. She also gets the feeling people are keeping things from her. Her mother and best friend aren't telling her the entire truth about her life before the kidnapping, but she doesn't know who to trust until Scott Parnell returns. The Nephilim fills her in on the fallen angels and the war with the Nephilim whom the angels possess two weeks out of every year. Nora knows she is somehow involved in the situation, but she isn't sure how. She also know the stranger Jev is someone she has met in the past, but she can't place him. As she and Scott uncover more and more about Hank Millar, Jev keeps pulling her out of sticky situations. She feels drawn to him, even though she suspects he may be dangerous and is definitely on the opposite side of her friend, Scott. When Jev pulls her from a warehouse where hundreds of Nephilim soldiers are sleeping and would kill her for trespassing, he takes her to his home in the tunnels and reveals who he truly is to Nora- he is really Patch, the one man/angel Nora has loved. Now they must find out what Hank Millar is doing and save Nora's family in the meantime. Hank Millar may have nothing to lose, but Nora has everything in the world to lose now that she has fallen in love with Patch all over again. This was undoubtedly the best story in the series. Many people complain Nora is as whiny and spineless as Bella in Twilight, so it was nice to see her in a whole new light. She is more assertive in this book and gets herself into a lot of trouble because she won't just move on after the kidnapping and forget everything that happened to her. She is determined to get to the bottom of it all. I also, after the last ridiculous book, needed to see her and Patch really fall in love. Her amnesia really made that possible. She was drawn to him, couldn't resist him, and that was the Nora and Patch I originally loved and wanted to see more of! Finally, Fitzpatrick solved her biggest problem from both original books in the series- she didn't give you 90% filler and 10% action at the very end. The last two books I hated until the very end and then I was left liking the book but still feeling duped or cheated. This book was interesting the whole way through. From start to finish, it was interesting and there was a lot going on. I am surprised how it ended, but now I am actually looking forward to the next installment instead of feeling obligated to read the silly thing! I am glad to see this book redeemed the series, but I still probably wouldn't give this series to a struggling reader. It isn't exciting enough to hold their attention and help them be successful in finishing a whole book. I would leave this for adults (just for sheer boredom's sake- not content) or stronger readers who could make it through the whole thing without giving up because clearly Fitzpatrick saved the best for last!
