Great product at a great price!

This is the most affordable completely vegan (and organic) Vitamin D3 supplement on the market. Each box contains a bottle with 60 capsules with a blend of "whole food" mushrooms that supply the D3, as well as many other food ingredients that may supply a variety of micronutrients or have other benefits (or they might do nothing significant!). Each capsule is 2500 IU, so bear in mind that you need two capsules if you plan to take the labeled "serving size" of 5000 IU. You should only take the amount appropriate to your personal health needs. I take 5000 IU, and it has the same effect on my blood levels of vitamin D as other 5000 IU supplements over the long-term, so it seems likely this supplement is labeled fairly accurately. The one downside is that there is a misleading and undated lab test certification enclosed in each bottle that should be read carefully to comprehend its true meaning, or just take it from me: although it states the supplement contains 100% of the advertised vitamin D3 as well as 100% of the listed ingredients, there is a major footnote! The footnote reads "based on input" and (paraphrasing) goes on to say that this means IT WAS NOT TESTED BY THE LAB, and they are just restating what is printed on the label. The only thing the lab states they tested was that the capsule dissolves in a way that meets USP standards. Period. This is flagrant misleading marketing, and dated, recent, random sampling and testing of actual vitamin D3 content and variation would be truly valuable if it were provided. Retail packages from competitors I've seen don't contain any lab test results, which would be preferable to this misleading one. Also, and this is speculation, many competitors with vegan D3 products acquire their D3 from a specific concentrate available on the market (I think from algae). I tend to wonder if that concentrate might be easier to standardize the concentration of D3 with, compared to a specific mass of dried mushroom blend. In any case, this Nature's Plus product works. I might be wary if you need to be absolutely sure of the exact dosage you are getting.

love this Vitamin D and it is the one that I recommend to my clients/patients

We've all heard we should be getting more vitamin D, but anyone not independently wealthy is not going to be lounging in the sun during the workday, and the source of most vitamin D you see on the shelves is Lanolin, which is basically sebum scraped off of sheep. (Imagine letting your hair get really oily and then scraping the scum into a bottle.) Bonus points if the sheep has rolled in dirt or something worse before being scraped for its Lanolin. THIS Vitamin D, in contrast, comes from organic mushrooms and is processed with an array of vegetables to increase its effectiveness. It's gluten-free and vegan, and never got anywhere near a sheep! Maybe I will count mushrooms instead of sheep when I fall asleep tonight, relaxed that I am getting good nutrition with no animals harmed. :-)

Excellent product!

The actual product is great, however it continually takes weeks for it to arrive. Either need a better supplier or system to ship in a more timely manner.

I never had my blood levels checked, but many doctors in New England tell patients to take D3 because of chronically low D3 in this region. Plus, members of my family (all in New England) report theirs were at extraordinarily low levels. I've also heard low D3 impacts mood and energy levels. I started taking these last August and within two weeks I noticed a drastic change in my mood, I felt much less angry and much more balanced.. I also notice I have much higher energy levels and my body isn't aching as much. I'd been taking fish oil and MSM for joints for over a year and have not noticed a change. This has had a tremendous impact. I ran out and bought another over the counter D3 supplement. I thought it would be the same but my spouse noticed a turn for the worse in my mood after a week. It turns out the other supplement had a lower IU dosage by about half. I immediately went back, and it's on subscription. Thanks Amazon! I'm allergic to lanolin, which I heard is in other D3s... Definitely gelatin is in the other, so this is a great vegan supplement.

I bought this supplement for the winter months because I usually get a little blue around this time of year. I am a vegan, I eat super healthy and I exercise, but lately I've still been a little lethargic, finding it difficult to focus or be motivated. I don't know for certain if this is the D3, or a placebo effect, but I've only taken this for the past two days, and I feel hyper-focused. I focus for long periods of time, and have the energy to get up and do stuff. It is great. Still, I feel like the dosage might be a little high for me, and I will probably cut down to one pill a day. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product so far. Natural organic ingredients. It kind of feels like an adderall without the crash, negative side effects, and synthetic chemicals. I have also done a little light research on vitD and brain function online, just to see if it is just me, or if there really is something to this-- and there have been studies that link vitD and better brain functioning. So do your own research if you are interested. I will certainly be ordering this product again. I will also be introducing this product to my grandfather, who has dementia, as an experiment to see if it can slow down the progression of his disease. He is also on chemotherapy, which means he cannot go out in the sun, and I am guessing that has affected his vitamin D levels. Thank you Nature's Plus!!
