2 year update, they are a killer deal for the price but have a really strange quirk
I initially used these as tv speakers for around a year before moving them to my desk to be used as pc speakers. They had no issue filling the room with quality sound when used at the tv but they had a tendency to "walk" across the surface they were on if the volume is turned up high (perhaps rubber feet instead of foam would fix this?). After moving them to my pc they never did the "walking" again but that's just down to using lower volume to fill a smaller area as opposed to a room. They have a balanced sound but its recommend to have a sub accompany them for the really deeper bass frequencies (its a small speaker its to be expected). Other than that I would buy again in the future for a desk or a smaller room.

Sound pretty crisp
I picked up a pair because of reviews and price. First off, I'm not sure of low frequency on these speakers. I have them wired to a Harmon Kardon with a 15" powered sub. Using to listen to vinyls. The highs are pretty crisp, and I have the sub to pick up low frequencies. They sound pretty good. Far better than I expected. I hate the phrase, "good for the money". These sound pretty damn good regardless. And yes, for the money, I'm very happy. I would definitely suggest these

Aunque al principio me parecieron un poco pequeños, al escucharlos me sorprendió la claridad del sonido.

Great value
The build quality and sound quality are great for such a reasonably priced pair of speakers. I read that they sound better without the grill and I believe that's true.

Very impressed with these at their $55 price
I hooked these up to my Denon AVR 1705 receiver where I used them as near field speakers for my PC, and was very surprised with the sound quality. In my setup with these less than a foot from a cinderblock basement wall, these seem to play nicely down to 50hz, with clear mids and treble. I have to say I'm extremely impressed by these little guys and have a hard time finding a fault with them for their price. The treble is a little forward and I could see it getting fatiguing at high volumes, but I'm really enjoying them. The speaker covers have nice wide openings for the speakers and look to be very sound transparent, but the opening for the tweeter is a bit low and covers the top of the tweeter. If you use the covers and sit higher than the speakers, this affects the treble output. I contacted Singing Wood about this, and they said they're currently redesigning the covers. I'd recommend anyone using desktop speakers to buy these, buy a cheap used stereo amplifier, and enjoy the hell out of them. Pair them with a sub for great realistic rumbly games and wonderfully clear music with some oomph. For reference, these are some of the speakers I've used for my PC in my audio "journey": Emotiva Airmotiv B1+, JBL 305P MKII, KRK K-Rok monitors, Klipsch B-2, Altec Lansing ADA995, Altec Lansing 621, and briefly used Logitech Z-2300 and Z-5300. PC is using Soundblaster Z sound card.

Mmm, ok. Not bad, not bad at all.
Good quality speakers and a really great price. Well packaged so that they arrived undamaged. I was surprised that they came with speaker wire. They have posts on the back to connect up the wire so you can used the gold plated plugs. The posts also unscrew to expose a hole in the post that will accept bare wire. The only issue I came across is that the speaker wired included with the speakers had a soldered tip. This tip was too short to make a reliable connection so I had to clip that bit off and strip off longer bare wire. They are compact and should fit almost anywhere. The sound is rather nice. I started them off with some Debussy for a while then switched to some decent Chicago Blues. They performed well for both. It’ll take a few more hours to break them in but I’ve noticed that the more they get used, the warmer the sound. The bass is there but they won’t be thumpa-thumpa window shakers.Really good value for the money.
