This product works perfectly. We sent down three lake trout that would not go down due to inflated bladders. It was simple,easy and all three survived. They were caught at 85 feet and released at 75 feet. We used a short pole and an old penn level wind reel with a heavy line and a 2 pound weight. This is a must have device if you fish deep and release fish. GREAT ITEM, alleviates guilt of killing fish when releasing.

I have used this device on several occasions to descend rock fish back to the bottom in depths up to 600 ft. It worked well and was hassle free. I purchased another devise for a friend as it’s now California state law to have one on the boat for rock fishing. Would recommend this device.

**UPDATE** After contacting vendor and Amazon confirming it was their issue, Amazon replaced it. The descending device works as designed.Received the package today and it is missing items and the tin to keep it in even though it says it has it on the package

Material is well constructed and easy to hook up. I like the small tin that it comes in to keep it secure in the tackle box or glove box on the boat and not tangle with anything else. Haven't had to deploy it for its intended purpose yet but suspect it will perform fine and last a long time.

Great for the price. I did have a couple of fish slip off the device before descending, so I had to net them again and redo the process. I found that you need to gently put the fish back in the water and make sure the weight (that you need to add to this device) is below the fish a foot or so to ensure it takes the fish down properly.

Needed one to have on boat while fishing - cheaper than a ticket!

I spent the extra 3 dollars for the one with a case and did not get it
