Great Tool!
I work full time in Telecom and I purchased my first in January of 2023. I’ve used my screwdriver 5 days a week for practically 2 years and I have never had an issue until recently, it just burnt out. The gyro stopped working. So. I went ahead and purchased another. I love this thing. I’m not too upset about it burning out, as Dewalt supplies you with a 3 year warranty. So I have contacted them about a replacement of my original. Great tool if you’re just a casual user, a handy man, or a blue collar man like myself or anyone really. It has great strength turning screws into wood, cement, plastic. Etc. great value for your money and it’s compact. The weight of it is sturdy, comfortable and easy to use, you don’t need to spin your wrist too much to get the thing in motion. I think it’s a no brainer. Get you one! Or another like myself lol.

AMAZING!! Very intuitive, gyro is amazing - this thing rocks!!
I bought this as I wanted a power screwdriver that had variable speeds. This one has that and it is super easy to use. I use it for small hobbies and on 1.5mm to 2.5mm screws. This means I am using it at a slow speed and watching the torque at times. It's great and the gyro function works perfect. Tap the power button and the light will light, insert and hold power button, turn in either direction. The more you turn while holding the power button, the faster it will spin. If you release the power button and press again, it is as if you are in neutral and any prior rotation is nulled out. Something to think about for those that tap the power button instead of adjusting the gyro and position. I totally recommend this, she saw the name Dewalt and was instantly fine that I had bought a product with a quality brand name. I joked that I would probably lose it before it broke... - 6 Month review - It's been 6 months, still pretty handy and I really like it. The downside is that it is temperamental now and works some time (gyro) and sometimes it doesn't. It seems that when I have it horizontal and the tool has the top upright - the gyro seems to work fine. It has become temperamental though which I really dislike.

Best battery powered screwdriver out there
I had already bought a high quality brand name Skill 4-volt $35 screwdriver. It was well built and felt like a real tool in the hand but I should have paid attention to their ads which bragged how great it was taking screws out of wall outlets. That's not exactly a high stress task for a screwdriver. I returned it and picked up the Dewalt DCF682. That's the straight one, not the one which twists into something that looks like a power drill. I didn't want to pay $73 for a screwdriver but the cheaper ones were just that, cheaper and under powered. This one has twice the power, more than twice the torque with it's 8v battery which pops out and is charged in its own charger. The Dewalt is 2 pounds vs the 1 pound screwdrivers with the USB chargers but it is still light in the hand unless you have the strength of a small child. For any typical man or woman it is easy to maneuver and the Gyroscopic switch works progressively, whether to tighten or loosen screws. This is the right tool to do most any job which requires a battery powered screwdriver. If you need a drill, get a drill. This one is a screwdriver. You never regret buying quality.

Sweet little Gucci Gear Tool (a luxury not a necessity)
So this thing does exactly what I wanted to do, allow me to quickly and securely tighten screws on my remote control vehicles. I have an Xmaxx 8S and I’m always snapping the front and back bumper supports from bad landings, so I have to frequently change them out. They are 2.5 mm screw heads. Doing them all by hand was extremely time consuming and annoying and my tiny little precision electric driver is nowhere near powerful enough. That’s just for precision electronic screws. With this, I just put in a 2.5 mm MIP ball head into the quarter inch chuck and can instantly pull out/put in screws with such ease and control. Save me a lot of time and it’s really neat. I’m looking forward to trying to use it for a few other things, I have some pictures and stuff that I have to hang on walls in my home and I’m going to try it out for that. I’ve not put the power to the test yet, but it seems pretty strong. My only complaint would be that I thought it would have the optional form switching feature where you can at, rotate it to a pistol. Even the instruction manual that came with it shows how it can be switched over by pressing a release button, I guess that’s on another model variant.

I was constantly looking for a cordless screwdriver to build and maintain PCs. And finally, found this! All those cheaper ones... nope, stay away from them! They all have some caveats and mostly, that's torque/speed control! They either do not have torque/speed control nor holding chucks! This one operates with gyro.. which is similar to those phone... some phone games controlled with tilting the phone, right? That's how it works. Simply press the button and tilt your wrist. Simple as that and that's not really a causation of asking almost 150 CAD. HOWEVER!! The gyro tilting itself is acceleration based! If you tilt it really slightly, this driver will turn as weak as those electronics drivers. Yes! I've tightened PC motherboard without problem! Be sure to get long (6" at least) Philips #2 bits as well! And yet, if you snap it like when those 20V drills clutches, it will run the full speed/torque! Those pesky PC chassis cooling fans? NO PROBLEM! It will screw through the plastic chassis fan frame like a hammer drill and may over tighten the screw, which never happened to me yet. So, basically, this screwdriver can cover everything low torque. I believe no one is looking for this driver to drill 2"x4" timbers, yet building an IKEA furniture or installing some towel hanger at the best. For those tasks, this driver may be an overkill in terms of price. But if you have to work on a lot of delicate and somewhat strong screwing job, this is the only driver that can do the both ends. Moreover, being operated with gyro enables holding it with any angle/direction! So much easier to work with since all that you need to press is just ONE button! Sometimes, when screwing something in a tight space, it's not comfortable to reach tighten/loose button separately. But just having a single button changes the scene entirely!! At the moment, it is too early to say how battery life is. But the 1Ah battery was not drained while building 4 PCs! Since even a professional PC assembler can only work 3 PCs per day at max... battery life will not hamper the workload at all. And yes, PC parts do not need too much torque at all. Even better! Now some cons. 1. Battery can just be integrated and charged via USB-C. Sure, it can be tricky to make > 7.6 V with a USB power, but there are tons of buck/boost converters out there. So, it's technically not impossible. DeWalt 8V platform is kind of nonexistent other than this drill and it's sisters and having a bulky charger and a specialized battery seems to be an afterthought. 2. Only one shape! In fact, DCF680 can be operated as a 'gun' mode. But kind of hard to find in Amazon. 3. Again, compared to DCF680, the lamp is only single spot. I would prefer ring shaped lamp like in those impact drills or DCF680 or DCF601. But after all, forget about all those premium cordless drivers nor cheap ones unless you are in a real tight budget. If you can afford it, just buy this one! The gyro is a magic!

Love this driver. Takes a little getting used but after that it’s spot on. Great for those jobs where you don’t need a full battery drill. Great Torque for its size. I love the turn it which way you drive feature. Cool!!

This tool has a sharp but short learning curve. There’s no trigger button to make it spin, no little switch to flip to make it go counterclockwise. Instead, this tool works by torque, activated by the cock of your wrist to determine direction and speed. The battery life is excellent too; we have been using it to put together a small pile of ikea furniture and are definitely less intimidated by the prospect of building an entire ikea kitchen in the coming months, thanks to this little guy. Seriously thinking of getting a second one so my spouse and I can work simultaneously, when we’re done with the kitchen we could give away as a gift and I think even lightly used it would be a treasured gift to any diy fan. Uncommonly pleased with this purchase!
