My goto sock company -- Highest personal recommendation I can give! It's worth the price!
First off, I love these socks. This is a pair I’ve ordered. I’ve ordered several styles and many of the same style. I’ve been wearing these socks for years—and they last that long. Secondly, I love this company. I’ve returned two pair that got snagged and they promptly credited me for a new pair with free quick shipping. Thirdly, yes, they look expensive. After owning a pair you’ll not think twice about that price based on what you get. You get the lifetime guarantee—which they stand behind—and you get the amazing quality. I took a gamble on this brand the first time when going to Colorado in the winter. I thought I may need quality, warm socks. I didn’t realize how it would impact me. After returning, I threw away just about every other sock I owned. I kept dress socks, for a while. I then proceeded to order several pairs. Then more as time went on. I worked in the field and didn’t realize that my previous socks sucked. I would get sweaty and stinky and blistery. My socks were soaked the end of the day. That is, until Darn Tough. It was amazing when I realized that it didn’t just keep my feet warm in Colorado, it kept my feet comfortable in the central Texas summer heat (110F) walking through mud and swamps! My feet didn’t cramp from being cramped in my boots all day. I don’t feel the stitches or seems. I’m telling you, they could call these socks “Darn comfortable” and they would be telling the truth in that regard, as well! Yeah, I know, it sounds crazy, but from that moment on, merino wool has been a favorite of mine, and no other socks will do. They stay comfortable, they don’t itch and my socks stay in place and they are rugged but soft. Seriously. I’m not paid to say this, I didn’t get anything discounted or free, but I really love these socks. I’ve ordered pairs for my wife, my mom, mother in law, aunts, friends, etc… I haven’t heard one person complain about them, but have heard all of them say great things. I’ve been asked to help them order more, many times. This really is my goto recommendation for socks and a sock company. I’m not sure which is more tough, but both the product and the company are darn tough on their quality and desire to please the customer. I think this company is fantastic, and I bet you will, too! Most highly recommend (not just this model but the whole brand). If this review was helpful, please click the button saying so. Thanks!

Great socks, can't wait to get some more!
So I get stuck between sizes as I wear an 11-12 depending on the cut of a shoe, and socks are no exception either. With that, I would say most of my shoes are an 11.5.... and that leads most "large" socks to be small and most stores do not carry XL socks for whatever reason even though they sell shoes that are. I marked them as fitting as expected as I did order the XL and they list it for a larger foot, but they do fit nicely. Until I buy a pair of large to compare..... this size is great. I am an active person.... I am in the process of rehabbing a 1950's house, maintain a couple of properties, and besides downtime I have a full time career that seems to round out much of a day, 7-days a week. I have been using my socks I bought locally and besides a couple of pair of Smartwool socks, everything else left my feet tired at the end of the day. I tried different shoes which helped some, it often felt like my feet were being suffocated. So I saw where someone said the XL was the size to get and that is what I did... I think they're a tad too big, but I wear them and on the other hand I have to "fit them" to my feet rather than them stretching out like most socks do.... so maybe they are the right size. I am going to buy a pair of large to compare and will see if they're as comfortable... So performance, feel, and comfort--- so far they are great. I wear them two days straight without any ill effects (i.e. smell, etc...) and they feel as good on the second day as they did the first. Performance is great so far. I have work them for at least a couple of weeks total and my feet have felt great across 6-7 different types of shoes. Overall feel.... they are soft and comfortable with comfort over a long day being key. The other thing I noticed is no more fuzz getting stuck/ compacted under my toenails.... to me that means the socks are staying together and my feet are happy for it! So they are about as expensive as others and I never heard of them before running across them on Amazon, but will never forget them as this is what I plan to buy for the future as they feel that good. I do wish they would make a 1/3 stock--- that way I can wear a 5" boot and have enough to protrude out without wearing a full length sock for the warmer months.

Quality and comfort!!
Only socks I’ll buy. I’ve had the same 4 pairs for 5 years and have zero issue with them, they still hold up like new. Just bought the 2 pictured and they fit perfect and are comfortable. They’re pricey but with the warranty and quality, you definitely get what you pay for.

Good but make sure you get the right size
UPDATE: I am changing my review to 5 stars. I now have 1 of each of the available 4 colors of this sock in size large and as far as I am concerned this sock is the best ultra thin athletic sock on the market (and i have tried a lot of different types). The fit and performance are unsurpassed and the lifetime guarantee seals the deal. i use these socks for biking, running, and every day in my danner boot and they are great. in no other ultra thin sock can i get away with 2-3 days of wear before washing. one of the 4 pairs IS starting to tear a little bit in one spot from me pulling the sock on but no matter. if it gets worse i'll utilize the lifetime warranty! the only thing i would wish for is more colors. FYI, My original sizing concerns were due to my misunderstanding of the fit and sizing of darn tough. i am between sizes so both XL and L seem to work but i would suggest sizing down if between sizes. the xl i ordered below is too large, i just did not realize it until ordering a large in the same sock. you can tell by the location of the heel pad when the sock is on, it should be directly underneath the heel not near the achilles tendon like the xl fits on me original review: Good but make sure you get the right size. i have a pair of darn tough xl cushion 1/4 hiking socks and they fit similarly to the size large of this sock. FYI I am a 12.5 (slightly wide) on the brannock device but can fit a 12-13 size of shoe/boot depending on brand. the xl size of this sock was too large and had extra material on the toes and didn't line up at the heel.

I purchased the Darn Tough Vermont Men's 1/4 Merino Wool running sock. It is a great and well manufactured running sock. It "molds" to my feet, without wrinkles--thereby, eliminating blisters. I have been wearing it for multiple long runs, long walks, and track internal workouts with comfort. The tight weave of the fibers also resists abrasion in my shoes. As a testament to happy experience, I have purchased 5 more pairs.
