I’m a cellist and recently bought an 1/8 cello that needed a bow. This one is nicely put together and the hair seems good so I installed the cellophant grip on it so my 3 year old learns a proper bow hold. I’ll update this review if it needs on how it survives a child but it looks like it will do nicely for this age.

Excellent bow for a young student. Terrific price.

The bows are great, very responsive especially for their price range. But the packaging could do with improvement. I was not prepared to see them rolling around in bubble wrap. Now I'm wondering how they would have survived had I not selected "hide contents".

I don’t really play cello but this bow seems very nice for the money. Easy to adjust and seems very sturdy. A carrying case would’ve been nice, but for the pricepoint I understand why it wasn’t included.

The media could not be loaded. I was excited to get this bow that came recommended from a local violin shop because it LOOKED great, but upon receiving it, I tightened up the strings and put it to the test. All I can say is WATCH THE VIDEO. It is terrible! Not only is it shorter than the bow that came with my 3/4 cello, but the sound is sooo faint. I got it because it looked great and had the right curve and everything, but the horse hair used must be either fake or of low quality because the sound was just bad. I tried it in comparison to my bow and you can easily hear the difference! I returned it immediately. Beautiful bow, but it just didn’t work for us.I would suggest, if you’re still inclined to try it, to also buy some rosin and rub the hairs agains it to see if that’ll help sharpen the sound that comes out as it glides against the cello’s chords. If that still doesn’t work, well…I warned you.
