Columbia Redmond mid - great hiker, great value, great for wide feet
Excellent light weight hikers. I have a very wide foot, between 2-3E, and these boots fit perfectly. Ordered a half size up on length based on reviews, I have a 10.5 but went to 11 with this boot. Other then wearing them around my yard for a few hours the first time I put them to use was on a 8.6mi round trip hike in the pacific northwest in the Snoqualmie Region -- Snoqualmie Pass outside of Seattle. I intended to stay at the top at Lake Melawka and make it a two day trip but it was raining the entire day so I decided to head back down once at the top due to weather, vs being trapped inside my small 1 man tent all night. The hike is 2500' of elevation gain over the 8.6mi of steep terrain covered in large rock, scree and loose talus for most of the hike. It's a steep grade all the way up. The Columbia Redmond mid performed great. Despite the constant and steady rain my foot stayed 100% dry, the mid-ankle support was enough to keep me stabilized on the loose rock and steep grade even with the 30 lb pack on. The shoe, virtually right out of the box, caused no discomfort in the over 7+ hours of hiking I did that day. These are great for traveling due to the light weight as well, I brought them with me from Boston to Seattle. Overall this boot is an outstanding value, excellent for someone with a wide foot and the waterproofing is outstanding. Would strongly recommend

Columbia Please Bring this Version of the Redmond Back!!!!!
I've been buying the original version of the Redmond Waterproof Mens, in both the Mid and Trail Shoe style, since about 2014 and I love them! Columbia discontinued the original version of the Redmond Waterproof about 3 years ago and I miss them. They are the best shoe I have ever owned. Period. What did I like about them? They fit snug around my foot and gave good arch support and, best of all, they really are waterproof. I'm a delivery driver on the Northern Plains so I walk through a lot of weather and the Redmonds could handle it all. Columbia, please bring the original version of this shoe back!

Nice boot but it is small.
I have less than 20 miles on these but thought I could review them none the less. I normally wear size 12m (US). These boots feel a half size small. I need to wear lightweight socks with them because medium weight socks make the boot fit too tight. I can't even get the boots on with my winter socks. When I wear the appropriate socks, the boots are comfortable and offer very good support. The arch is fine for me and the heel doesn't wander. The toe box is tight and this is where it would be nice to have the extra half size. They are warm even with the lightweight socks but this is fine as I will use them in the colder weather anyway. No doubt they are warm because of the waterproofing, this attribute I haven't been able to check because the weather so far has been rather dry. Most of my "hiking" is the urban variety so I will probably never test the limits of the boots ruggedness. I usually just wear out my boots as opposed to having them fail through use. Hopefully I'll get a few years worth of walking before the soles wear through.Update April 2020; 4 star is right for these boots. I've put a few hundred miles on these in all types of weather. They are wearing well. They still run warm so I don't wear them when the temp exceeds 75. They are not water "proof" but are very resistant. Heavy rains do not penetrate but water will get in if you walk through multiple puddles.

The perfect go-to bad weather shoe
I was looking for a cool weather waterproof hiking boot to use for easy trail hiking through the woods. These are perfect and have now become my go to all year bad weather shoes. Anytime there is bad weather and I need grip, protection and don't want my feet to get wet, I go to these shoes. They are light weight, water PROOF up to ankle (tested thoroughly), and easy to slip on without lacing and tying every time (I do use a shoe horn to make it easier). Great value too as I was looking at more expensive versions from other brands that didn't fit as well. I have an 8.5 foot and the 8.5 fits perfectly. They are somewhat rigid and make my feet feel well protected too. I am currently looking for a high top version to use in deeper snow. I had a Columbia winter jacket in the 90's that failed miserably in the middle of a snowboarding trip and I personally banned the company for life, until trying these shoes Very well built and I will recommend to any friend looking for this type of footwear.

Great hiking/trekking shoes
Great hiking/trekking shoes! I recently completed a two week backpacking trip through Scotland where the weather is ever changing but it is sure to include some kind of precipitation. These are truly waterproof which is a must for certain environments. We hiked in the middle of rain and hail quite often, without getting my feet wet. They are comfortable and durable. I put about 150-175 miles on these shoes during this trip, including about 26-30 miles on one day with a full load (65 lbs backpack and I am 235 lbs).Do keep in mind that because of the waterproof lining, your feet will not breathe at all which can cause moisture issues. Just make sure to freshen up your feet every couple of hours. Note that drying this shoes requires a bit more effort because of the lining restricts airflow, but definitely not a deal breaker.

Ok, but some weird issues.
I've been wearing a pair of Columbia hiking boots for the last year and a half, and they were comfortable, but a little narrow. So I bought these in EE so I'd have a little more room. I'm not sure they feel any wider. And they aren't as comfortable as the other Columbias I own. They are a nice-looking shoe, and constructed very well. One other odd problem though. Over the course of my day, I have to take them off periodically and loosen my socks at the toes, because they get very tight over an our or two of moving around. Not sure why, but it hasn't happened on any other shoe I've ever owned. And at the end of the day, my feet are damp and my socks are hard to pull off. i'm guessing that's because the shoe is waterproof and doesn't breathe much. I've tried foot powder to keep the moisture to a minimum, but it didn't make a difference.

Muy buenas
Positivo: A mi juicio tienen un diseño diferente, se ve más redondeado que otras botas de senderismo que suelen ser más rectas y toscas. Me gusta, se ven muy bien. Además me parecen bastante cómodas y ligeras comparadas a otras.

Consigliatissima!
