Computer aided editing: lacking any professionalism.
All the signs of a computer-aided attempt at editing are here. Missed words, incorrect words, doubled words, bad punctuation (particularly commas). It's sad to see. The premise is good. Not for serious readers.

Absolutely loved it!
As I'm sitting down to write this review, I'm wondering where in the heck to start. I actually went into this book not expecting much and was blown away by it. :D This book will keep you on your toes. So saying that, let me now start off as I typically would. Heh. V-Card is this first book in the Sharing Spaces series by Alicia Michaels. I have never read a book by her before and I was pleasantly surprised. I will be reading the rest of this series! When I first started reading this book, I was sort of annoyed. Here was this chick (Jenn), going on and on about her virginity and how she wants to get rid of it. Then you start finding out about the things she's gone though... I'll say it straight up, I think I'd have had a complex too if I went through what she did!! Do I agree with how she goes about this, no, but does it make for an entertaining and enlightening read to see what happens to her and how she changes even her own point-of-views on things through the book? Yes.This isn't just a love story, or a path Jenn sets herself on. This book is more than that and I enjoyed that part of it more than the rest. As for Jenn herself, she just feels lacking due to not having experiences. This too changes over the course of the book. The character is engaging however and can make you feel more than one emotion. Amusement, annoyance, heart break, angst, sympathy... just to name a few.You might be wondering if we have a hero. Well, we do! The thing is, I don't want to spoil anything by telling you about that bit. That actually makes this review a bit challenging to write. I was -shocked- at a few points through this book and wide-eyed as well because I wasn't expecting what happened. This is coming from a person who typically has book and movie plots both figured out in the first thirty minutes. Well, I wasn't expecting this one.For those wondering if she goes out and hurls herself at every man she sees, Jenn doesn't do that. She's very safe about it, in fact. She may want to lose her virginity but she's at least sensible. She doesn't put herself in situations that are going to lead to her own self harm.Would I recommend this book to people? Oh yeah, I would. I loved the writing. My one thing would be that if you're not a fan of first person POV books, then you might not enjoy it as much, however definitely worth it if you want to give it a shot. I'm not a huge fan of first person POV myself and I -loved- it.

A must-read for any die-hard romance fan
At twenty years old, Jennifer's still a virgin, though not necessarily by choice or for lack of trying. Determined to ditch that label by her twenty-first birthday, she's on the lookout for that special guy with whom to take the next step. Add in one hot guy who is more than interested, crazy roommates, and Luke, the friend who's acting differently around her, and the next couple of months are going to be an emotional roller coaster. The Verdict: Wow. I picked up this book on a whim. The college age girl trying to lose her virginity isn't exactly a new plotline, but it's generally a fun one, so I figured I would read this when I was all out of scheduled reviews and looking for something simple. But V-Card is sooooooooooooo much better than I expected.Jennifer's not proud of her virgin status. In fact, she only has that distinction thanks to a series of mishaps over the years. At the same time, she's not looking to lose the label via a meaningless one-night stand, so really she's simply a college student who wants a real relationship that will lead to sex. Completely understandable, right? Then she meets Dain.Dain is a friend of a friend, and he really seems like the perfect guy. He's sweet and kind and patient, and when he finds out she's a virgin, he doesn't push her. He drops in when he misses her, brings her flowers for no reason at all, and spends time with her the way only the most perfect boyfriend will. But while Dain is romancing Jennifer, her friend Luke is acting strange. He makes no secret of his dislike for Dain, and something seems to be happening between him and Jennifer. There's a new bit of heat between them that catches Jennifer off guard, but it's not something she's willing to explore, since she knows all about his player status. After all, they live in the same house, so she sees just how often that revolving door to his bedroom welcomes a different girl.V-Card is surprisingly fun read, complete with all the usual college hijinks and drama, and a dose of harsh reality when least expected. Jennifer is an easy character to love, since she's neither a wallflower nor a wild child, and I'm betting most women can relate to her simply wanting the happy relationship status she sees others having. I have to say that twist in the plot really caught me off guard, too, just as it did Jennifer, and I think that says a lot about Alicia Michaels's writing. Where most authors throw in such heavy hints that I just want to slap the heroine for not noticing the obvious, Michaels keeps readers in the moment, seeing things completely from the heroine's perspective, and it makes for a powerful story. V-Card is fun, sweet, sad, and often hilarious, and it's definitely a must-read for any die-hard romance fan. You can bet I'm grabbing the rest of this series!

Super Cute!
This is about a group of roommates-one in particular (Jenn) and her quest to lose her virginity. But it's like who she needed didnt need to be found; he'd been right there all along!!!This story was super cute and it was quite amusing at times. It grabs you from the very beginning, too. I really liked it.I hated how Dain made her feel...scumbag. smh. I loved how Luke made her feel.I didn't like how it took her being with someone for him to wake up nor did I like how he didnt tell her upfront, though I get it.My only critique...The author could have done w a smidge bit more editing, but it didnt kill the story. Also, I would say to watch out for repeated phrase bc there were a couple of them that made me go 😒 ok already...how many times we gon hear about the heat radiating off someone? Or about her tummy being in knots? Or someone playing with her hip? Please let some betas read over your work; theyll catch things like that.I'd definitely read more of her work, but maybe a different series. I dont find the other roommates interesting enough to care about them. Chloe and her bastard child? No thanks. I didnt even like Chloe. Kin...I forgot her name...but that should tell you all you need to know...I did like Christian though. He, i found interesting.Anyway, give it a read. If you like cute stories with a happy ending, you'll enjoy this!

Pleasant Surprise
I’m not really sure where to start with this book, I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did. Don’t go into this book thinking it’s going to be steamy hot because it really isn’t but it’s a sweet story of love that comes from the last place that you expect. This is my first book by this author and I am so going to be reading the rest of this series.Jennifer is turning twenty one in two months and has decided that to become a woman she needs to lose her virginity, there have been times in the past but each of her encounters with trying sex have ended in disasters, albeit very amusing but once you read about them you can see why before now there has been no hurry for her to repeat the encounters. So far she has found no one that really appeals around campus and is running out of hope. That is until she offers to be one of her roommates Christian’s pretend girlfriend for a party his parents are throwing and that’s where she meets Dain. He’s perfect in every way considerate, caring and makes feel special but is he really everything that she thinks or is there a side to him she has yet to meet and why is she thinking of Luke her other roommate so much? In the end who will she choose Dain who makes everything seem so perfect or Luke who she’s known forever and makes her feel everything? All the characters in this book are very different but fit together really well, honestly looking forward to reading more in this series and more from this author.

Disappointing
I began this book with an open mind, it not being my usual choice, but a freebie is worth a look... The premise was reasonable, but I found the story to be a bit lacklustre. I know the author has worked hard on the story to please people, but it didn't work for me. My fault perhaps, for picking something out of my normal reading zone - but the story didn't 'grab' me and I finally gave up.

Great Read
Reading this was a weird experience in my opinion but that's not a bad thing. This girl feels like she has to lose her virginity as she's waited a while. She just doesn't know what guy will be the one. It's got a lot of witty and funny scenarios and i really enjoyed reading it. It wasn't very long and i managed to read it in a few hours but it was absolutely great to read.
