Great for use with a dog long line
These clips are lightweight but robust and are easy to open and close one handed. I bought them to attach a 20m rope long line to my dog’s harness for play and training until his recall can be trusted . He is a young border collie weighing around 20kg. By the time he has run 20m, he is really motoring and this clip has stood up to ‘hard stops’ on countless occasions. Great for a dog owners peace of mind.

Build quality!!
For me they did the job, I needed a stand in to hold up a Punchbag and one of these held it no problem, so it was a life saver now whether it would save you on a mountain I can't comment but for me I would recommend.

Expensive but strong and of good quality
Good size and quality and suitable for use as a dog lead clip for a long lead that cannot accidentally become unclipped. The screw fastening gives me confidence that dog and lead will always remain together. The clip is very expensive but my dog is far more important to me than the price of a clip so five stars if you want it for a dog lead, or four stars otherwise.

I have brought a few of these.
Wanted something to use to connect webbing loops etc. quickly these seem like a good load / strength to price to quality balance. I don't climb but I wanted something that I could lock (Screw-gate) for attachments to Trees using webbing etc. Think Scouting to help you get the idea. I keep them with my kit for all kinds of usage I wouldn't want them rubbing against steel pegs / hooks etc. under load as they are Al but for Rope to Webbing etc. they work well. I have quite a few of them now and wouldn't hesitate to buy more. (Remember they are really for kit etc. but not for Climbing. They do a more expensive rated version for Climbing.) I would be happy to use them for a hammock etc. I like them.

These are not real
Although excellent product they are not real.. I'm never climbing a tree again. I don't care if its Christmas, it's not my turn to be the fairy on the top.
