I'd say, if you are patient and have a second bathroom to use so you won't be pressured, you can do this. The replacement product is universal, and made from materials which are easy to work with and don't rust. If anything, I'd look at the existing components to make sure they are not corroded or rusted, which makes it very difficult to remove the old components from the tank. Particularly the bolts which hold the tank to the base. Check those. If they are clean on the bottom of the tank under the base, and you can easily turn them with a wrench while holding the screws with a screwdriver in the tank, you should be good to go.

The ARHRKP10 comes with a high performance fill valve which is designed to fill the tank quieter while the toilet bowl is being filled up faster or with more water. This feature is very important on the new dual flush or low gallon per flush toilets where more water is needed to fill the bowl. The AKRP10 comes with our standard fill valve and it is designed with a standard refill rate (water going to the bowl) that works best with larger gallon per flush toilets or toilet that are not designated as High Efficiency Toilets (HET). I am not a plumber but have done toilet repair. The Fluidmaster web site will fully explain their different models. Size considerations for the correct kit are the flapper at 2”, 3” or even 4”. Most all their models adjust in height from 9” to as tall as 15”. Much depends on the age and model of your toilet, along with your desired gallons per flush and water levels.

Good replacement kit

Like most realised toilet was losing water about.Measure the best you can the parts you replacing. It states the flush is 2' but doesn't state the inlet size which I think is 3/4' most commen connectors are 1/2'It took me 1 hour to do. Make sure you have a saw and large adjustable wrench or water pump pliers to tighten the plastic nut.It worked well no leaks.I didnt replace the flush handle as the kit has a cheap plastic faux chrome handle. Hence the dropped star.
