The shredder is a cut above the rest!
I've spent countless hours searching for the perfect leaf shredder, and my quest is finally over! After trying out a popular string shredder (I'll spare you the brand name, but it starts with a W), I was left unsatisfied with its performance on twigs and gum balls.I decided to give this model a try. Assembly was a breeze, and I was immediately impressed by the high-quality materials used in its construction. This machine exudes durability and sturdiness, instilling my confidence in its long-term performance. I was initially skeptical about the blade size and their overall quality, but I was pleasantly surprised. The blades are thick, sharp, and built to handle heavy-duty tasks effortlessly. To give you an idea of their size, I included a picture with my hand alongside them, as well as a shot with my finger showing their thickness.Eager to put it to the test, I wasted no time taking it out to the yard after assembly. I had a massive pile of leaves, teeming with pesky quarter-inch sticks and an abundance of gum balls. However, this leaf shredder didn't skip a beat. Not once did it jam, effortlessly reducing everything in its path to finely shredded pieces. The negative reviews claiming it struggles with wet leaves are probably true, as that complaint seems to be common.. The debris I cleared today was bone-dry, which is typical for my Californian climate. So, if you reside in a region with high humidity or excessive moisture, this machine might not be the ideal choice for you.I can confidently say that this leaf shredder has surpassed my expectations and exceeded all other options I've tried. Its outstanding performance, coupled with its sturdy build and efficient shredding capabilities, make it the ultimate choice for anyone seeking a top-notch leaf shredder.

Product worked fine, till it became worthless after 6 hours of use!
I purchased this leaf shredder, and everything worked well until one of the blades broke. I called to get a replacement, and when I tried to take the bolt out to replace the blades, it twisted off. The bolt was coated with loctite, which is definitely a manufacturing defect. I tried seeing if I could get at removing the bolt, but the construction of the motor prevented getting access to it. I then have had multiple attempts to contact customer service. It is terrible. I now have a product that has been used for 6 or 7 hours that is totally worthless. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I plan on contacting Amazon to let them know what has happened.

Having tried a couple of similar units I found that this one was the best of the bunch I went through and does a superb job of mulching leaves and small twigs but any thick enough pieces of wood are likely to get stuck on the sides and jam the blades. Removing them is simple and the unit continues to run normally afterwards. The wheels on the unit are terrible and should be replaced with something more sturdy. The ones I got barely seem like they could take the weight of the unit and were not usable (I carried the thing instead). It's also difficult to pour leaves in as you'll need to push in even the smallest amount. You can do this relatively safely by hand as the blades are way down in there but be safe and use some sort of tool. It's also really loud.Overall, I would recommend this unit for the price. While not perfect, it does the job well and any complaints I have are minor at best and wouldn't stop me from buying another.

Shreds leaves AND small twigs!!!!!
There are few shredders on the market that are 1: electric AND 2: specialize in shredding dry leaves, dry plant stems and small twigs AND 3: have a decent sized hopper to take all the before mentioned AND 4: are in this price range. This machine seems to fit that gap in the market. Quite well in fact!!!! Did a great job chopping/shredding the spring clean out of my perennial beds. From bin after bin full of stems, leaves and whatnot normally put to the curb for yard waste, to chopped/shredded material I could put right back on the beds as mulch. It did not replace the mulch I normally put on the beds every year, but was used as a thin layer in addition. Good to keep it here instead of sending it away!!!!! Material to be shredded DOES need to be DRY, otherwise it tends to bind up and choke the motor. Easy enough to hear when this is about to happen because of the change of the sound of the motor. And therefore easy to change how much material is being fed into machine to maintain workflow. Great machine!!!!!! I like the mostly metal construction.Shredder arrived with the plastic motor cover broken. But, after an email to the manufacturer listed on the manual, a new cover was shipped and received within the week. Easy enough for me to install and get to shredding!!!!!

Works OK but some issues
I am glad I bought this and I think it is a fair price. Here are some comments. Assembly is straight forward if you have the right tools, especially drive socket with ratchet drive tool.I have operated it now for about 1 hour. It works well BUT you have to be careful what you feed in. It hates vines like ivy and pachysandra which wrap around the drive shaft. It does not like handfuls of pine needles - they clog it. And it absolutely hates wood chips which slipped in a couple of times with perennials picked up from the flower bed. They jamb really tight. Because of rather frequent jambs, it is good to have a lamp so as to look inside and find out what is causing the jamb. It is also good to be really quick to switch off the machine if it is heading for a jamb. One change the manufacturer should make is have a quick access method near the blades. Unscrewing 8 bolts to get at a jammed wood chip is very time consuming.
