This safe fits my nightstand perfectly. It feels well-built, heavy, and the lid opens quickly. Opening it is very convenient with the three access options: fingerprint scanner, button code, and two spare keys. Setup was straightforward, and programming the fingerprint and keypad code was simple enough. My only complaint is the interior space is quite tight for 2 full-sized handguns with extra magazine and speed loader. That one is on me though, because I probably should've measured more carefully.

After reading reviews and looking at specs for many pistol safes I settled on the double size updated model. I was impressed by the speed and accuracy of the biometric print scanner. The gas strut and spring seem to be plenty strong so far so I'll see if they start to weaken over time. Both the button code and the print scanner were easy to program. I like the lighting that shows where things are inside when it opens and the padding inside is good for protecting finishes. I only intend to keep one pistol inside but there's room enough for magazines and ammo if I want more in there. I also like that there are a pair of keys to override the battery operated security methods. I used carriage bolts with the nuts on the inside to mount it to my night stand and it is in a good position for easy access yet all the security I need to keep it safe from my kids.

First, I bought a BILLCONCH safe on Amazon. It worked perfectly. It was easy to program the numeric code (10 digit choices). It was easy to program multiple finger prints. It has a rechargeable battery and light that comes on and stays on as long as the lid is open. But, I learned that it was not California compliant, so I returned it to Amazon and bought a SentrySafe model instead. The SentrySafe model is definitely more robust. But… programming the numeric code failed over and over. Finally, I got it to work, but there are only four unnumbered buttons. Then I programed two fingerprints. The light was supposed to come on for ten seconds when the lid opened. It did not. Changing modes according to the instructions from no light to a 10 second light did not solve the problem. The light would flash on for a moment and then shut off. And it require alkaline batteries that cannot be recharged. Much, much worse, however, the fingerprint sensor was EXTREMELY GLITCHY. More times than not, I had to put my finger on the sensor pad more than once to get the safe to open. That’s the VERY LAST THING you want in an emergency. My conclusion: the SentrySafe IS much more robust than the BILLCONCH safe, but in every other respect, it is far, far inferior. California compliance aside I would NEVER, EVER trust this unit to work for me in an emergency situation. And, so, back it goes…. NOT RECOMMENDED.

This is a very important purchase. Not the time to be cheap if you are going to store a firearm. I like having three options to open. I find the biometric reader is generally effective. Sometimes i have to adjust my finger tip and rescan to function. Good size for 1 handgun and magazine (s). Probably would hold two handguns fine. I like the blue internal light

Wow! I’m pretty impressed. I was a skeptic, but with the instructions I was quickly able to program a code and my fingerprints. Opens very quickly. Piston definitely does it’s job and forces the door open immediately. Blue lights turn on when the door opens and I can quickly get what I need to take care of business. Easily holds my hellcat micro 9mm with clip inserted, extra clip and ammo in a safe way, not only because it’s locked, but also because of the foam liner present- seems like it will hold up fairly well. So far so good!

The safe does exactly what it's supposed to do: keeps your guns out of the hands of those that shouldn't be touching them, but allows easy access within 2 seconds without fumbling for keys or combinations. It's not an anti-theft safe or fire safe but I knew that going in. I'm a little disappointed in the interior dimensions. While it does fit two handguns, two extra magazines, and even a small box of ammunition, it's a tight fit. Still does the job, however. The entry code and fingerprint scanner were easy to program and worked very well, even when quickly placing my finger on the scanner. Code entry is quick, easy, and silent. Having backup keys is a great feature. The exterior dimensions are advertised as being suitable for inside a drawer, but the drawer in my nightstand is about 2" too narrow for it. I settled for bolting it to the top of the nightstand, which is old and due to be replaced soon anyway. Measure your drawer before buying and ensure that it will open far enough to allow the door to pop open fully. The blue LED lights are just enough in the dark to let you see the contents without compromising your night vision. The safe is surprisingly heavy and well constructed. I recommend the safe for what it is, but for more security against theft you'll want a different solution, which is totally fine.

I’ve had this for a couple months. It’s very sturdy, and works reliably. I think they have upgraded the hardware from previous version. For some reason the fingerprint reader wouldn’t work for my wife’s thumb but it worked for all other fingers tried. And no, there’s no scar or anything on her thumb. Anyway, I would recommend this as a tool to keep your gun safely stored.
